made me realize how god i am at parrying in bloodborne but how terrible i am parrying in ds3

i fought pontiff underleveled and the only way i was able to kill him was parrying so i got my caestus and my black knight swrod and went to town.

Reletr, Master of the Realms same i went in bloodbore with 0 vials and 20 bulets, parried everything since ds3 came out, my first successful parry was 2 days ago

rado jerkovic Thanks bro :) Hard to say yet, but parrying in DS3 is a lot easier then in DS2 because you almost have immediate active frames with almost all tools in DS3 compared to the looong inactive frames during the parry animations in DS2. In DS3 you can react - in DS2 you have to predict...It feels almost to easy in DS3...

well yea, he DOES attack you with his halberd in that form, and it only makes sense that if you can parry the halberd when he isnt in beast form, that you can still parry the same attack from the same weapon in beast form.

Demon's Souls and Dark Souls have the most "standard" parry systems, similar to how fighting games do parries. You press the button to parry, and there's a parry window that starts IMMEDIATELY, followed by a recovery window. Better parry tools have longer parry windows and/or shorter recovery windows. DS2 and DS3 add a startup time, which is cool and makes parry tools feel diverse, but they need to SHOW WHEN THE FUCKING PARRY WINDOW STARTS if there's a delay so I can tell what part of the animation is the good part. And Bloodborne, goddamn. There's a startup time, plus a projectile attack that has travel time based on how far away the enemy is. Double-hits in that game are so common, where you land the "parry" but also get hit by the attack.

Mister Guy ah right that explains why I fail to parry in DS3 when I think I’ve timed it right. I find it complete bullcrap when I successfully parry but still get hit at the same time. Anyway I’ve never liked the concept of parrying in Dark Souls, it makes the fighting shallow.

Elí Luscesforo  And even if you could parry Lorians normal attacks (still unlikely seeming as although he does not have as much momentum he still swings with a lot more force than most humans would) don´t forget about his sword being on fire and him teleporting and sometimes standing up to smash you. try and parry THAT.
