Killing that giant crystal lizard on your first attempt was pretty impressive, even if you didn't fight in it's intended arena. Luring it to that other one is probably more of a smart play, if they didn't want you to they could have programmed it to lose aggro at around the spot where the message said to turn back.

Extremely unpopular opinion but 2 is my favorite. Yeah stuff like the way the world connects is weird but I love the areas in the game.
