Okay, I got so confused, I looked at the thumbnail very quickly (honestly I just saw the yellow background with the "top 10 stuff" written above), thought about the new Sunlightblade video, then I saw "Hi Everyone" and was thinking "weird, that's not how he starts his videos", paused, looked a bit down only to see that beautiful purple face. This is just my guess, but people tend to stick close to the middle of the arena. In number 1 he probably went back to the bonfire to summon his buddies. So it's a mix of predicting what they are going to do, luck, and mad aiming skills.
