I walked along one of the many winding paths hanging above the chasm, the moon cresting over the city's spires that never stops. My job required me to ferry letters back and forth between the city's upper class, often at night. They pay well and I'm pretty sure the mail office looks through the letters and packages. There were very few people out tonight, most folks stay at home whenever possible and those who do venture out are constantly wary of either getting caught by the clockworkers (police) or one of the gangs throughout the city. Weapons of any kind are banned but that doesn't stop people from improvising self-defense, even if it means breaking the law. Lord Castall has an iron grip on the city, keeping a constant lookout for those that would disrupt the 'efficiency' of the city. Hopefully, this will be the last letter of the night then I can head home.
