This is what all lawyers instruct clients to say because it leaves room for plausible deniability and doesn’t lock them into a firm statement. It’s a smart move even for innocent people because it’s hard to twist a person’s words when saying to the best of my knowledge or not that I recall.

Lorenzo’s imminent denial and extreme defensiveness almost had me for a second there, but he gave himself away when he kept cowardly threatening to walk out. Typical narcissistic gaslighting behaviour. A truly innocent man would cherish this opportunity to profess his innocence and use the interview to challenge the evidence against him. Quite frankly, an innocent man would have to be drug out of that interview while he begs for a retrial.

I believe Lorenzo is a murderer but disagree w/ your assessment that an innocent person would act differently than walking out. The reason is that I've been falsely accused of things I didn't do by a narcissistic wife. She slandered me to the elders at church and when one of the questioned me, I told the truth and he still didn't believe me. I had evidence proving that she was lying and he still didn't believe me. What's the point? I just walked away. I don't need to justify myself to anyone. For Lorenzo, he wasn't getting anywhere with Pierce so he just wanted to walk away. He's already in prison, it's not going to set him free. So, in context, walking away can simply mean that there's no moving forward.

I wish Piers would have asked, "If you HAD done these things, are you the type of man who would admit it"?"

I'm sure if he started talking ebonics and addressed him with what has been said to be a "term of endearment". He would have spilled his guts.

Very angry, narcissistic man. He will never, ever admit it. Real odd ball guy who was determined to have control at any cost.

Unpopular opinion: I believe he didn't do it. A man so neat, careful, and meticulous would never leave his DNA behind in/on every woman is unlikely. He was framed. 🤷

This guy was not briefed that he is here for an interview rather than a trial. He just keeps denying everything.

He’s so full of anger that he has no to unleash his demons, just imagine the rage during his murderous state. They never want to admit to the killing as the word monster is a distaste to them. Very few of them will tell the truth regarding their evil deeds.
