Today we explore the rich history of this forgotten Naval Base. This once bustling military installation played a key role in both World Wars, housing soldiers and storing ammunition. However, the base was abandoned in 1947, leaving behind a network of forgotten barracks, mess halls, and underground bunkers. Join me as we uncover the secrets of this forgotten piece of history, walking through the empty buildings where soldiers once ate and slept, and delving down into the dark, claustrophobic ammunition bunkers where the explosive materials were kept. With each step, we'll learn more about the lives of the servicemen who called this place home, and the vital role they played in protecting the nation during wartime. So sit back, buckle up, and get ready to explore the past as we venture into the depths of this forgotten base.

Every time I look at a place that was abandoned I think of the life people had and how they , it’s kinda sad sometimes 💔

You know it's incredible that these buildings which have been abandoned now for 76 years are still standing, where as much newer buildings of only 20 years or so have fallen to the ground from decay and deterioration, a cool explore !😀

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have Fort Flagler, Fort Warden, and Fort Casey, which made up the "Triangle of Fire" protecting the entrance to Puget sound, and the naval bases at Bremerton, Bangor and Whidbey Island, that were constructed around 1896. ("An Officer and a Gentleman" was filmed at Fort Warden). There are abandoned pillbox bunkers and labyrinth, pitch black underground tunnels that are creepy-fun to explore. It's a great place to spend Halloween.

Love the historic walk through. Usually the ground floors were offices, supply rooms. The vault I belive was arms room. Upstairs were most likely the bays that were for sleeping - bunk beds. You got the mess hall kitchen with some really interesting history. Those ovens would have been really nice to look for a brass data tag.

I loved the history you gave of this strange place. It's always sad to hear about tragedies on some of these old abandoned sites. Six families lost loved ones here. That's awful. Probably very little was done for the safety of the people working here. It seems like this place could be haunted. Some of the background noise were weird and scary. Thank you for this wild tour.

First comment, yay! Always awesome videos. Have you ever done a closed fast food joint? There are lots of abandoned places here in Toronto, just waiting to be demolished for more condo and subway/streetcar building projects. I just don't want to be caught. Canadian trespassing laws are pretty tough here.

I find a beauty in the ruin and decay. As it is frequently said, if those walls could talk, what stories would they have? Plus the idea of a vastly different time almost forgotten in our modern days, to me these type of places instill a fondess of simpler times.

13.30 prisoner lock down (mp holding) cell (probably temporary). barred windows, mouse hole in half door for rations. most of the larger rooms look like typical barracks to me. the room with the barred windows and one chair is probably an interrogation room. not much has changed in the layout of these buildings in all these years.

Absolutely love history and seeing these bases that were so important. Oh yeah-that was a multi-man shower. There is no single use shower in barracks. Probably we’re walls separating them so you had some privacy. This is a fascinating place! I’m so glad you tell the history that goes with it. Those roads look like they’re in good shape. I love that main gate. What a beautiful piece of art. The detail that is so lacking now in buildings is great to see.
