Ian Shuirr Ian Shuirr Right?? There has never been a better time to be a rock and roll musician. Jon writes some of best bass of this century, influencing Dave and catching the eye of Doug (founder of DG), Dave becomes an artist on DG who then demos the creation of his influence. Karnivool released their first album in 2005 people!!

I really wish you guys did the Bass videos at Andertons. Anything I watch from you Dave you make me really want to buy everything. I love Andertons, the Cap and Rob do an incredible job on the Guitar Videos, but on the Bass ones it feels like the two of them just repeatedly say 'We don't really know what we're talking about' and as someone who is watching videos on this gear specifically to learn about the stuff you're just incredibly inspiring, be it on Rabea's channel, your own or Rob's it super feels like you massively care about what you're talking about and it really makes me want to pick up my bass and play. You're a great player and you really know your stuff and it's amazing to get to watch you play while you effortlessly show off everything the gear can do. I'm getting the Microtubes 900 from Andertons next weekend and probably this in the future. Thanks Dave and Rabea, you're both awesome.

The Darkglass duality (which I love btw) has the duality knob along with a blend which allows you to blend two different fuzz sounds along with clean tone. So it's definitely not the first pedal like that. I haven't had a Darkglass pedal yet that I didn't like. They make great pedals.

I love the bass in Sound Awake, my favourite is the intro to Simple Boy it's just so huge, though I'm waiting for the Guitars to get a bit more of a show off like they did in Themata rather than just the synth-y and ambient stuff... I could probably go on all day about them. Hoping I can get in on the "Hometown" Gig on their next set of gigs, should be awesome... all the more reason for you boys to come to Aus for a bit :)

Great review. I have a question: Would it be sufficient to use this pedal, or the b7k ultra directly into my audio interface + a cab sim, in order to record good quality base. Without using a amp in-between at all? Also for aggressive metal bass would you personally choose the Alpha-Omega or the B7k ultra? Thanks.

I noticed you guys demo'ed the pedal over Flower of Life, but it seems slightly detuned. I'm guessing it was done inpost recording to not infringe KZfaq guidelines but I'm absolutely in love with the slight frequency differences between this demo and the recording. Any idea what your "A" reference tone is? Sounds close to A=424, but I'm not positive.

I just got this Pedal. But..I get a high pitch whine, and it seems noisey as F$*#..Plus I get a Ground Buzz that the Ground lift does not help. If I thouch the metal Input or output jack it goes away. yet when I plug the same Bass with the same cables into the same amp on my Ampeg pedal. no noise, no buzz. I'm thinking I got a bad $300 pedal ? Anybody else have this problem. I was so looking forward to this thing. Bummfriggenerr

falloutweasel Mainly the drive circuit. The Alpha Omega has 2 drive circuits available with the Mod knob (you can Blend between the two). The B7K has a dedicated High Mid knob, where the A/O has it on a switch with flat or boost settings. The low mid is centered at 500hz on the A/O and 1000hz on the B7K.

the website doesnt really say, but they're using the "direct output", instead of "output" (which is made to go into an amp i believe). it also added alot of thickness when they turned the amp on, it didnt sound thin and weak so i think its a safe bet that direct output is cabinet simulated. "output" is not cab sim.
