this is tied with temptation and final showdown. this is possibly the best work weednose has made. Edit: I just realized something. Since BF is corrupted in Outburst, that makes Homer one of, if not, possibly the STRONGEST corrupted character we’ve seen, because nobody has come close to corrupting BF. Peter and Lois weren’t even close in A Family Guy. They just swiped him, yeeting him out of the house, so he could meet up with Peter in Death Lives. Making Homer the first one to officially and fully corrupt BF. Or, its possible that Mindless is still canon, and Brian corrupts BF through his mind. SOMEONE HELP ME OUT ON THIS.

Another banger song from Weednose and Co. I don't have too much to say, other than this song is an absolute banger, and it felt weirdly like a rave song which- I think works here. Simpson Week is already off to a good start, I have high hopes about every song to follow. The only thing I wasn't big on were Homer and Marge's voice lines they just sounded really silly, and they made me laugh. I can't really take them too seriously as threats when they do that. But by and large that's the only nitpick I have with the song itself. The rest is banging! You might also need a flashing lights warning for this song. There's a lot of them.

in final showdown, stewie is implied to have jumped to another universe, likely the world of the simpsons. considering the fact that boyfriend managed to jump to the family guy universe by himself, i feel it's safe to say that he also jumped to springfield himself. with this in mind, i feel it's safe to say that somehow boyfriend made entrances to other worlds, cracks in which the darkness can seep through to continue spreading. my theory: boyfriend.xml has royally damned the entire cartoon network multiverse, including our own. edit: i noticed how homer called boyfriend a friend of bart and lila, implying boyfriend had met the simpsons family prior to the darkness. i have a new/reworked theory. maybe the darkness had reached the friday night funkin universe before it found family guy or the simpsons. since pico is in the family guy universe, i can assume the two escaped together and got split up somehow. boyfriend was in the care of the simpsons for some time, and most likely warned the family of the darkness. this could explain why the kids look more afraid instead of terrified and confused, as they know what it is. for comparison the griffin family was shocked and panicked when they first encountered the darkness. (side tangent: there's a familiar pattern with how the darkness attacks - it psychologically torments and attacks its victims using other characters as puppets, either to coerce submission or otherwise give in to it. this is done in almost every song, but notable examples are "airborne", "temptation" [which is a direct reference to its method of attack], and "twinkle"). after some time, boyfriend left the simpsons and their universe to search for pico, landing in the family guy universe. at the point of his arrival, the darkness had, or was about to show up, and boyfriend made it to the griffin's house. considering his battered state in the song "a family guy", he was likely attacked by the darkness before reaching the griffins, which also explains how he looks at the darkness. he's encountered it before, whereas the griffins haven't seen it before. again tying into the whole "those that have seen/know of the darkness aren't as caught off-guard and afraid". my guess as to why the darkness didn't pull pico to use against him was because it was using him in the "standoff" song at about the same time. when boyfriend and peter break out of the darkness in "death lives" the two split up, boyfriend likely going into hiding or making his way back to the simpsons universe as he knows the family guy universe is doomed. it's unknown when he made the jump between universes (likely before the events of "the final showdown" as stewie isn't present in "outburst". one might question why stewie would be here in the first place, but i believe he would want to help the simpsons as he's familiar with them through references and show collabs). somehow the darkness followed boyfriend through the inbetween, or whatever the space between worlds is called. the darkness ends up taking boyfriend and spreading through the world of the simpsons, eventually reaching the house of the main cast. lila and bart are aware of the darkness, and fight back instead of giving in once they see marge and homer. bart even brushes on the point of no return for a moment as he fights back during the song. my explanation for milhouse's appearance is he was either visiting at the time or had come to warn bart and lila about the darkness upon seeing it. considering the fact he looks much more scared than the other two, it's safe to assume he was unaware of the darkness or dismissed it upon learning about it, likely believing it to be some joke or tall tale from bart. it's also notable that the darkness is speaking through marge and homer, directly speaking to bart. once he starts resisting he darkness, it becomes more violent as heard by the more erratic vocals.
