They are distant relatives because Barry is actually a twin the other being given to the Thawns when they were born because the doctor was drunk so to cover it they took Barry's twin without Nora's knowledge Oh and Barry's son Don marries Melony Thawn and they had Bart Allen (impulse) and Melony traveling through time had a son (Owen Mercer) with Captain boomer Bart's half-brother. It gets trickier but that's a tip of the iceberg.

It's ironic I mean 1st, Thawne used to admire the Flash and then started hating him and on the other hand Barry admired Wells(actually Thawne) and when he realized who he actually was, Barry also started to hate Thawne.

Thawne keeps an eye on Barry and his enemies across the timelines, his time travelling abilities and his discretion when time travelling (a thing other speedsters cannot do, and he knows it) could enable him to spy on Flash without nobody noticing, even potentially interacting with other antagonists that interest him. Savitar, being a version of Barry, would have undoubtedly caught his gaze, so he may have spied on the self-proclaimed god of speed without Savitar even noticing. Except for the Thawne in s2, who clearly lacked some experience, others do not know if Thawne is around at a certain time unless Thawne wants them to know.

that means when Eobard met Barry in 2000 when going to wipe him out existence after seeing his age and how he interacted with him would of thought he was from 2024 to beyond then found out he vanish's in 2024 then met Season 2 Barry and would of though based on his experience he was 2014/2013 after Crisis-2016/2017 then for Season 5 Barry seeing his tone, tone towards him, advanced abilities, ageing, protectiveness around Nora anywhere from 2018-2024 or in other words (1) thought Barry had been the Flash for over 5 years and a half at least-any time after that from 5 years to his death before finding out about 2024 and thinking the end of the 4 years at most (2) though Barry had been Flash for 3 years at most 3) thought Barry had been Flash for 4 years and a half at least=10/11 years at most

If he had kept it secret, he most definetly would have installed them into each of them in secret, like you really think he wouldnt tell Barry or Cisco about it, or Wally, who was at the time still dating his daughter, you really think after everything he did to protect Jesse, he wouldnt try to protect her from having his boyfriend killed by another speedster?
