tecnically speaking all 3 happened, dan creates a looping timeline where he fights zarok 3 times, once before he dies, once after he dies and then he travels back in time to do it a final time, completing the loop. which is why dan is a bit more expressive the second time around (psp).

It's up to taste. The original will always be the best imo.

yea. but the remake is rather almost exact same story as the original. only it's been rewrite the CGI in the progress i should say. Of course, what i did not expect is the fact they've used the same voices from the original.

I'm excited for the remaster coming this year. And Resurrection is silly and comical and I love it without even seeing any gameplay or playing the game myself.

@@jacktheomnithere2127 the game play is nice. They tweaked weapon progression and changed how things like lightning can be recharged at shop gargoyles. I think it's good in it's own right. But it just doesn't capture the macabre of the original.

@@HikoruTheBrokenBlade yeah the PSP remake ruined the atmosphere and makes the heroes in the HOHs feel goofy and way too over the top.

No one, resurrection was like a ligth "remake" of the original already, why would you play this when we already have the original modern remake? they better make a MEDIEVIL 2 remake as well and forget this one existed.

Medievil resurrection is way better remake and I would pay for it.

I'd say just do a direct port. Otherwise I want MediEvil 2 remake.

Thankfully the remake did it justice.

Luckily the remaster brought it back. The grim excitement and adventure from back then with new tweaks of modern technology.

+Nicole Salvin - The original is just called "MediEvil" This is MediEvil Resurrection, it was a reboot/remake for PSP, same general idea, though much was changed in terms of characters, levels, and overall look and feel of the game. Resurrection is a good game in it's own right, though when compared to the original it doesn't stand a chance.

The original cutscenes had a darker, creepier feeling to them which I loved.

Problem, as made apparent by this video, is comic relief. The original was actually quite a dark game, comedy was there to relief a bit of tension. Resurrection is a comedy game full stop.

There's a reason for it, in the original Dan died because he was brave and led the charge against Zarrock, so the whole redemption quest thing is ruined because in this he's a complete coward and there's some annoying Jamaican worm talking to you all the time.

I agree I prefer that Sir Dan at least ATTEMPTED to be brave by leading King Peregrin's Army into battle against Zarok but was unfortunately killed by being fatally wounded in the left eye by the first arrow fired

Paul Darrow voiced Zarok in both the original and Resurrection, though his performance here does feel a bit different. It's funny you should bring up Mark Hamill though, since Paul Darrow's most famous role is also as a main protagonist in a sci-fi franchise about a small group fighting against an evil empire (Avon in Blake's 7, great show), just like Hamill as Luke Skywalker. Considering Tom Baker (the Fourth Doctor from Doctor Who) voices Death in Resurrection too, there's almost British sci-fi ensemble going on here :P

I just got into the remaster almost done it i heard of sir dan through play station AllStars and I’m glad i can play it finally this game is great

This had Dan's best expressions throughout the game. I wish he had some of them in the remake.
