With the Amarok up and running and already proving to be a very capable off roader at Parkwood, it's time to make a start on modifications!
First step for Danny and Rob is stripping the old rusty and battered tub from the back and fitting a fresh set of Rouge Alloys wrapped in 34.4" Nankang Conqueror M/T's!!
Meanwhile, in the background, Harry has been knocking up a design for a tray back to replace the old tub!

I love this videos, you modify cars that are actually in my country. It´s boring ALWAYS seeing videos of people modifying cars that doesnt exist here in Argentina.

Yes I second this. Tubular back end with a spare bolted to it. Trim the overhang behind the rear spring mounts. Wide arches on the front, full on Pre runner style

stick another rear axle on it and make it 6 wheel drive!

Cut the front bumper under the head lights and run a bar around then plating down to skid plates and Cut out the arch on the heighest arch line and put the flat arch extensions on and make up some new arch liners then itll look half like a baja truck

Don't lanoguard it. It doesn't dry and mud sticks to it and looks horrible. Go for wax oil, or just paint it.

Why not change out the rear diff for one from a v6 model with disc brakes? With all the added weight of the accessories your putting on it it would be much better and safer. Same with the front hubs and brakes being a bigger diameter than the 4cyl. The tray is a great idea, I had one on my last Amarok. Common here in Australia, and much more practical too. But don’t make it too wide; mine was almost 2m wide, but I think 1900mm is a better look with the rear mudguards slight protruding out past the sides to suit the tyres you are fitting. Then you can also won’t have any of your vision blocked by the headboard when you’re using your side mirrors. 👌

Would need plenty of trimming in front and behind the wheel plus body lift will help with ground clearance if we go anywhere crazy

Looks the part! Do you guys still have the last Amarok on the BMW wheels? Did you have any issues with the wheels or set up I have finally found a set of the same wheels and going to get them this week and fit the grabbers on! I want to put the biggest size I can without body lifts etc and think it’s pretty close!

What is the plan for diff ratio change? Those monster tyres will enable you to break diffs, axles, and CVs.

Have you broken a diff, axle or CV on an Amarok? CV maybe but I would be very surprised if axle or diff are destroyed. There are plenty of guys running 35" + Tyres on V6's and they don't seem to be having axle or diff issues (same axles and diffs in the 2.0L trucks) Worst case we do break one, we'll find a fix. All part of the fun! Front locker will probably be the deciding factor especially with Danny's driving haha
