This series is super underrated that people back then actually lost hope for a third and fourth game featuring the rest of the Horsemen, because we thought back then THQ won't be putting this series as one of their main priorities (especially since it went bankrupt back then)

Did you get the true ending with the lord of hollows and Abraxis? I skipped without realizing it. They should have made that part mandatory to the storyline because that was a crucial part. Yes its only slightly different but a major point to the ending.

When you speak about a showdown, i expect something more like the Dark Prince/The Council/All kind of corrupted forces vs The Horsemen / the remainig angels led by Uriel / Samael and his army (if he has one) / and maybe some makers with Ulthane. It would make sense for me : I remember reading somewhere that Samael was at some point the direct rival of the Dark Prince in Hell, being almost as strong as him (after all he can controll time), he just didn't expect the Dark Prince to corrupt Abaddon, one of the most powerful angel if not the most. Uriel obviously feel betrayed, hate Hell and the one corrupting her mentor. The only one where we don't know the exact role in all of this and is really hard to predict is Vulgrim.

tamlym I totally agree. I see a "resetting" of sorts by the Horsemen of the Universe where all corrupted(heaven, hell, the council, Lucifer) are wiped off the board. Humanity will rise and perhaps Samel and Uriel will take over their respective kingdoms.

@@tamlym I'm pretty sure Lucifer is Vulgrim. I know, I know, that sounds weird, but I have good reason. Well really only two reasons: He eats endless amounts of souls, and is wherever he wants to be without even any fear of the creatures near him, including aggressive Horsemen (Fury). If Strife can disguise himself, Lucifer can as well for sure. What better way to spy, what better way to acquire strength, than through being a merchant dealing in literal souls?

I want Strife game next directly taking from his scene in d3, then we can continue from when all 4 horseman descended after war broke the seal.

Uh yeah dont remember the bread crumb trail he left for his brothers. He was in all 3 games so far in some form.

Like when he left both of his guns for his brothers, one on Earth with Ulthane for War and the other in the makers home forgeland for Death.

Logan Whitney I was actually about to comment on that. It explains why both of his guns had ended up in War and Death's hands. Something happened to him in between this game and 2, and he either left his guns in the hands of the Makers where they eventually gave said guns to his brothers, or this was his last stand until he is revived by the seventh seal, and his guns were probably taken as a tragic keepsake. The second option would also explain why Ulthane was working on the gun he had in Darksiders 1: it was probably damaged very badly, and Ulthane had just gotten around to repairing it when he was helping out War.

Maybe Samael will settle with the king of hell title after Lucifer bites it and i doubt that he wants to go another round with Death plus the other 3.

As a demon who lusts for more then power, but knowledge and other aspects, I doubt he'd want to see the end of humanity. I believe, strife was sent on another task by the council, but in the process, he chooses to disguise himself as human to learn more about them and why they are feared by cosmic powers. He then leaves breadcrumbs for his fellow horsemen, and in the latest installment, he in some way teaches fury a lesson through her journey that humans are worthy of their protection.

War represent the unjust and imbalanced yet he seeks for justice, honor in the name of the Balance. Death is self-explained, the end. But in the end, he raised life from dead. Fury is blind with rage, ignorance. However, through her journey on Earth, she found peace, insightfulness.

@@2012Starfall2 my guess is the Mercy pistol got damaged during this fight and Strife left it with Ulthane for safe keeping, he probably got sent to the Forge Lands by the makers and left the Redemption pistol

I'm sure that's what THQ Nordic wanted of fury since in the first gameplay she was impatient and hot headed but as we see fought the seven deadly sins they obviously showed her sins. (This is gonna be out of order) Wrath (or anger): showed much hate fury had in her after losing her horse who she loved. Greed: showed her how much she wanted the glory and everything she desire Lust: pretty shows how much Fury wanted to become the leader of the four horsemen which the illusion does show before her fight with lust. Sloth: showed how lazy she had become Pride: showed fury that her pride is what gotten away from her because she was loyal to the council and wanted to prove them that she can be a better leader. Envy: (this part I'm not gonna remember well since I haven't played the game in awhile so forgive me if this would be incorrect) showed how fury was jealous of her brother Death for being the leader while also sharing a room with him (which she said to her watcher). So before confronting the real envy she admitted to her brother strife (who was human) that she was lazy and how her rage and pride blinded her actions. So while yeah fury may be mixed but she does face her sins and understand the true motivates of the council who betrayed the horsemen

John Case Well I got it spoiled for me but I would have never seen it coming. That’s because I wasn’t invested in the cutscenes like I was in the first two games. The voice acting in 3 isn’t that good compared to the other games. The voice acting gets worse every game with the best being in the first game and even that game had odd pacing in the cutscenes at times. The voice acting in Darksiders 3 seems like a Ben 10 episode

@@jonathanm9986 I personally don't have a issue with the voice acting in this game, but with the actual lines themselves. Something about them feel odd. Replayed DS1 for the nostalgia and man I really missed the quality in the dialogue script that game had (among various other things).

Kind of the timeline is much more complicated when you break it down. Bare with me this is going to be very long. - The creator created everything - The creator eventually disappears, no one knowing where he had gone - Heaven and hell wage an endless war - Lilith begins listing for power and she manipulates a Maker named Gulbannan. It’s hinted she makes believe she loves him, and he falls in love with her. Gulbannan is the only maker and being who knows the secret to creating life and has kept it secret from everyone. The creator knew how to create life but he’s missing so Gulbannan is the last person to know. However Gulbannan never dared create life himself. Lilith eventually gets Gulbannan to teach her how to create life. - Two humans are found in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve. No one knows where they came from. They just happened to appear one day. It’s hinted that the creator created them but he is still no where to be seen. - Around the same time the humans are found, Lilith creates the first Nephilim being, Absalom, using the essence of angels, demons and other secret ingredients. Shortage after this the first generation Nephilim are created, Death being amongst one of them. After this the next generations of Nephilim (2nd 3rd 4th, 5th etc) are born where Strife, Fury and War are born (in that age order since strife is the second oldest and war is the youngest of the horsemen). - Gulbannan realizing his mistake tries to warn everyone but is killed by his apprentice, Belisatra before he gets a chance to. Belisatra, also a maker kills Gulbannan because she’s curious to what will happen with the new Nephilim. - With both new races appearing heaven and the council needs to decide what to do with either of them. They eventually find out Lilith created them (although it’s unclear when they found out). The Nephilim are deemed a bastard/ilegitime race that should have never been created. They grant humans the realm of Eden while the Nephilim aren’t given a realm of there own. This deeply upsets the Nephilim race. It is deeply hinted that Lilith went to Lucifer to beg him for helping the Nephilim and Lucifer gets involved and instigates a War by manipulating Absalom and telling him the only way to get what is rightfully his is through violence. Absalom gathers his people and the Nephilim begin invading other realms out of resentment. (Kind of like Germany in WW2. Absalom can even be compared to like a Hitler figure. The Nephilim even do some gruesome things to other races such as the Ravaiim, killing then and turning their bodies into weapons of mass destruction similar to how the Germans put the Jews in concentration camps after Hitler rose to power). - The Nephilim are first aren’t seen as a threat. Heaven doesn’t get involved or try to stop them as the Nephilim keep invading other realms. They essentially allow the Nephilim to take over realms while the realms plead for heaven to help and step in. Heaven appease the Nephilim believing that they would eventually stop. It isn’t really Until The Nephilim take a considerable amount of land that the White City begins getting concerned. The Nephilim invasion campaign is successful. They expand their territory and rapidly. They are in discriminatory on who they attack as-well. It’s as if they were hell-bent on getting revenge on all of creation. Little did they know that Absalom was eventually planning for the invasion of Eden to be his end goal but he knew the Nephilim were still not strong enough to invade Eden. That invasion was still years away as the Nephilim still needed to become stronger and stronger they were becoming. Still the White City did not yet declare war on the Nephilim. However they decided to prepare their troops for war just in case and essentially told their armies to be at the ready, that a Nephilim attack can happen at any moment (heaven has several armies. Each tasked with a different objective. The hellguard is just one of them.) - Creation begins to lose respect for the council. The council is unable to keep order. They have lost their original enforcer (I will get to that later). They grow weaker and things are getting so out of control they can’t handle all of the issues at once. - 4 Nephilim who are now known to us by War, Death, Fury and Strife grow tired of the Nephilim’s massacres. They begin to believe that the Nephilim have lost their original vision and are now taking things too far, hurting those who have nothing to do with their predicament. They decide to desert the Nephilim army and go to the council with news and vital intel about the Nephilim and their next moves. They believe that the campaign now needs to end. - The four horsemen tell the council about the plans. The council especially becomes concerned when hearing about the secret Nephilim weapons that were created that are known as the Grand Abominations. Theses are the weapons of mass destruction I noted earlier. They are made from the bodies of the Ravaiim race. These weapons are so powerful that they are capable of destroying entire Realms and kill the realms. The weapons were even tested and it was proven they worked however the only downside to the weapons were that they created so much calloatoral damage, that they often cost the lives of many Nephilim too every time they were used. They were extremely dangerous. The weapons also neeeded Ravaiim blood to work. The weapons were also alive and the Ravaiim that were turned into weapons were not dead. The weapons built resentment for their wielders. In the battle of Kothysos, which was home to a race of old ones (it’s not specified what race they were) hired a demon mercenary army to fight the Nephilim after realizing heaven won’t come to their aid so they would have to take matters Into their own hands. This is where the Grand Abominations were tested. The Nephilim won the battle but at a huge cost. It was the bloodiest battle they had thus far. And it literally killed the entire realm making it inhabitable. The weapons were overkill and many Nephilim grew concerned of using them in the future, many afraid to wield the weapons themselves. When the council asked the horsemen how this was all known, Death noted that he was one of the First generation Nephilim that were responsible for creating these weapons. Death along with other led the development of these weapons and oversaw their creation. The weapons were even kept secret from everyone except the first generation Nephilim. That was until they were tested in Kothysos. Death even helped test the weapons in Kothysos himself, being partly responsible for the complete destruction of that realm. Death was not too happy with what he helped create and he regretted it. He felt responsible for the large amounts of lost life. He had lots of blood on his hands. Grand Abominations we know about are Mortis, Black Mercy, Earth Reaver, Lamentation, Anathema, White Anguish, Gravesire, and Bleak Tranquility. It is also important to note that Death was very close to Absalom and that him and Absalom saw each other like brothers. So Death knew a lot of secrets the council would kill for. - Anyways, the council saw the the 4 Nephilim as a opportunity. They had them prove their loyalty and swear and oath. After this the council granted them with immeasurable power, turning them into the horsemen and making them their new enforcers.

- The horsemen get their horses from a guy known as the Horsemaster. - Absalom realizing the Horsemen betrayed him and his secrets would be shared decide to enact his plans prematurely. He begins the invasion of Eden. The hellguard and the Nephilim come blows to blows in a fierce battle. The hellguard were the only ones who stayed between the Nephilim and the humans. The battle of Eden begins. - Samael appears and watches the battle unfold from a distance not getting involved but he looks with great interest. - The council order the four horsemen to massacre every single Nephilim in existence. They relunctantly say yes to the order hoping that they can spare some of the Nephilim lives. - The horsemen appear in the battle and join forces with the hellguard. The horsemen actually kill more Nephilim than the hellguard forces themselves proving how powerful, skilled and resourceful they are, placing the councils name back on the radar, making the council respected again. Death kills Absalom and the souls of the Nephilim are absorbed into the amulet that is later given to the crow father. The battle concludes and Eden is left in ruins. During the battle the horsmen seems to be enjoying themselves except for Death. Unfortunately no Nephilim was sparred. When death killed Absalom corruption was born and it swallowed him. - Death keeps the abomination vault where the rest of the grand abominations are located (in Kothysos) a secret from all of creation, including the other horsemen. - The white city and the council now decide what to do with the humans. Eden is no longer safe for humans and if a demon army (heaven was still at war with hell) decides to attack Eden would certainly fall as it’s defenses were severely weakened by the Nephilim attack. They decide to transport the humans to Earth. The humans were known as the third kingdom and they were to be watched as they grew as a species. It was prophesies that the humans would eventually evolve to be the most powerful kingdom. This put fear into many of those in hell and the white city. Forces on both sides began to conspire against the humans including the council. The evolution of humans were purposely slowed down so to try and circumvent the prophecy. - it was also decided by heaven and the council that Eden was of no use anymore and that it would go to waste. Azrael, the angel of death disagreed with this decision and decided to split up Eden and hide them in seperate created realms. He stated in the first game that he could not simply see the last gift from the creator before his disappearance go to waste. He especially saw the tree of knowledge as a tool with great importance which was also located in Eden. Azrael kept these locations secret from all of creation. - Lilith is eventually found and captured. She is sent to the council and the council wiped out her memory on how to create life. She can no longer create new life and the secrets of creating life were forever lost as she was the last being who knew how to do this. - The main events of the abomination vault novel, Darksiders Forbidden land gameboard/novel and the Darksiders 2 comic take place. No one knows in what order these three events take place but inferences and theories can be made. It is important to note that before the abomination vault, Death disappears, and lives by himself for a period of time in Kothysos. Strife being the second eldest is made first in command of the horsemen while Death was gone. Death eventually returns though after hearing what sounds like a grand abomination is still out there and has been spotted in the possession of someone. This kickstarts the events of the abomination vault novel. Also in the forbidden land novel/gameboard we learn about the councils first enforcer prior to the horsemen. He was an Angel and was imprisoned by the council in the Forbidden land for unknown reasons. The horsemen are sent by the council to prevent a Demoness (female demon) named Daheva who planned to release this enforcer for unknown reasons. The council seemed deeply afraid of this angel and wanted to prevent his return at all cost. In the Darksiders 2 comic, Death battles a angel host of corruption in its very early stages. Death has not seen corruption since he killed Absalom. - Either before or after my last bullet point the four horsemen are sent on a mission to stop the seven deadly sins and are successful. - Main events in Darksiders 1 comic events take place - Darksiders Genesis takes place. Genesis concludes with humans being corrupted (not corruption) by Lucifer and the council forcing heaven and hell to agree upon a pact of the seven seals. They are to halt there war until the apocalypse and those who broke that pact would be punished. 3 seals were given to hell, 3 to heaven and the final one to the council. - Abbadon, Azrael and Ulthane break the seals according to Abbadons plan. - Darksiders 1 intro take place (where the apocalypse begins and War is sent to earth for the first time before Straga defeats him. - War is blamed for the apocalypse crimes and is imprisoned. The council knew War wasn’t responsible. They simply put the blame on war because they needed to give him a motive to seek those responsible and bring them to Justice without letting all of creation know that they lost control of keeping order again. If creation needs the pact was not being followed this would send the message that the council was to weak to keep order. They sent the watcher to kill war once his mission was complete to tie up loose ends as War knew too much about the corrupt nature of the council by the time his mission was finished. - Once Death hears about Wars imprisonment he sets out to clear Wars name without the councils permission. - Fury is sent to earth in Darksiders 3 to deal with seven deadly sins that were forces of nature that were released during the apocalypse and are able to take up any avatar form they wished. - Darksiders 2 and 3 now run simultaneously. Death fights the crow father at roughly the same time Fury battles envy in her first boss battle. Death wins but is knocked unconscious, being transported into the forge lands, the home realm of the makers. Death is unconscious for a couple of years until he is found by the elder maker Eideard. Fury continues her mission on Earth. Her mission also taking a couple of years. Death continues to find a way out of the Forge Lands which is trapped by corruption. This takes death many years. Death battles the guardian at around the same time Fury has her last battle with Envy. War is still imprisoned. Fury completes her mission and is sent by Ulthane to a unknown real with the remaining human survivors. Darksiders 3 ends and Death just arrived at the tree of life in Darksiders 2. - War is released from his 100 year imprisonment and is sent on his mission in Darksiders 1. - now Darksiders 1 and 2 run simultaneously. War frees Samael from his prison around the same time Death arrives in the realm of the kingdom of the dead. - Darksiders 2 ends but Darksiders 1 continues. Death sacrifices himself and the Nephilim souls forever and chooses to resurrect mankind over the Nephilim. - war continues his mission taking him many more years. - War finally kills the destroyer, Uriel destroys the seventh seal, War and Death are resurrected and the game is ends with the horsemen being summoned to earth and being granted their full power. - The end for now I didn’t mention what happened to strife because we don’t fully know his story. We just know at some point he disguised himself as a human and disappears himself. Nor do I mention other details which there are numerous more.

Caleb Gouchenour The horsmen were tasked with finding the grand abominations which are weapons of great power that were forged by the nephilim and scattered across the realms. It’s a great book and you should definitely pick up if you love the franchise and want to know more about the lore. The book takes place after the horsmen slaughtered the nephilim (which is actually there own race).

Envy didn’t kill fury when she had the chance because she doesn’t stand a chance against fury without the powers of her siblings. That’s why she has fury basically going on a fetch quest for her. If you pay attention to the game their are two instances where envy’s cover was almost blown. Lust knew the watcher was envy and she died surprised that envy was able to fool fury. Another instance is when fury talks to abbraxis. Abbraxis briefly talks to envy as a way to tell her that he knew. Therefore for your first question she did wait Until she had the chance which was when fury defeated pride. That’s also fits her character description. Envy. She envies the power others have because she herself does not have it. The weapons that envy wields are replicas if the horsemen weapons. They are not the actual horsemens weapons. They also do not have the same stats. They are weaker than those weapons. The reason why she uses those weapons in combination with each other along with the power of the other sins is because again she envies the powers of others and wants nothing more than to be like others, and even more powerful than them. She wants to be on top. I believe the reason why she did not team up with envy is because envy is inherently evil. She’s no better than the council. None of the sins are. You would just destroy one evil which will be replaced with another. Therefore fury did what she had to do. My question about this game is how was fury able to use the hollows in the final boss fight if we saw her powers get sucked by envy? I always found this weird and maybe a plot hole. It would have been cool to maybe start out the final boss without the hollows but then as you progress through the phases of the final boss you gain them back one by one Until you have them all again and defeat envy once and for all

Akira Hisyam Gamingz Yes, but we never see the consequences of this in the final boss fight. In the final boss fight we have everything. Including things that are not the hollows and instead belong to fury. Game felt kind of unfinished in some places compared to the previous 2 games.

Well she is Envy, and it gives her great pleasure when she is finally above the ones she envied. She is savoring every moment of it. She had to act like a servant to Fury all that time as Watcher. That's why she doesn't straigth kill Fury. That's why she is sucking Fury's powers to hurt her,but never actually finishes the job. That's why Fury still has all her powers in final fight.

Well if you remember from the first darksiders heaven was trying to fight hell and try to leave humanity out of this war but unfortunately it did which we could assume the council put the war on earth. They also throw war in there as an escape goat to put all the blame on him for "defile the law" so while that was going on Death is probably unaware of the council sending war as an escape goat while fury found out from their own words. Strife didn't know till fury said it which would put the puzzles in place of his fears. Not sure how long strife has been with the makers and whats left of humanity but we can assume we was sent either with war (but was transported somewhere else in the world) or not long after to witness the chaos

That should have been fucking mandatory just like the other bosses. That was a crucial part, and I didn't do it. I went straight to Pride since I thought that's where the icon was leading me after beating Wrath.

Did you get abbarix with the destoryer by the end?

Well yes. I think the destroyer shows up in all the endings, but what changes is the end credits scene. For mine rather than lucifer/satan being nonchalant about what fury has been doing in the game he was angry at lilith. Don't remember much more than that . And to answer your question I did side with lord of hollows in the side Qwest and killed abraxas.

Not necessarily but kind of yes. Darksiders 2 starts slightly before 1 and 3 but ends after 3 and a little before 1 Darksiders 1 takes place after 3 and ends after all the games. Darksiders 3 starts before 1 but ends before 1 and 2. Some things happen simultaneously some things do not. It’s a bit confusing Until they hopefully release an official time line.

@@davidtran1812 She has all weapons of the horsemen, death mask and scythie war-like blade, strife guns. She doesn't have anything out of fury because she is considered the weakest so she doesn't pick anything up, maybe attitude?

You did not miss much just a few details. If u kill the lord of hollows , abbarix appears with the destroyer.if u kill abbarix u get an artificat from the lord of hollows that the council recognizes as very important .

@@firasdrass943 Yes, but that's very important. That artifact, if the company or whoever remembers should be used in the next game or so. If I didn't look at what happened and they bring it into the next game I would have been lost.

darksiders 2-4 all take place during wars imprisonment

War is imprisoned after the events of 1

DARKPROMEATHEAN No. war is imprisoned after the beginning section in New York in the first game. Then in between that and getting your watcher is when the third game takes place. The second game starts with war imprisoned as well but continues even after war is released to kill the destroyer. Death does not know that war is doing this during his journey and war doesn’t know about the quest death took to free him in his. Both 1 and 2 mostly happen simultaneously at the same time.
