Makers and other ancient souls are way too powerful to be affected by the spell that force souls to travel into the well of souls. Its a matter of power and not of ages. Good work guys!

Awesome vid as always. I also didn't know they couldn't enter the well. Still learning new stuff all the time. Anywho I also find it quite funny how if you look at War and Death side by side, War is the tallest and largest sibling. Death is the eldest, but shorter than the youngest sibling. That will never not be funny to me.

People have estimated Death to be at the most 7feet something. While War is about 9feet something. Damn.

You know Makers are probably closer to the original concept of Dwarves than most people realize. Never in the original Nordic Myths does it explicitly say that Dwarves (aka Duegar, Dokkalfar, Svartalfar) are short. The only reason Dwarves are depicted as being short in Tolkien is because they were made by Aule the smith rather than Eru Illuvatar.

You're not wrong. The Concept of short dwarves was definitely a major Tolkein thing.

The Old Ones size actuly seems to be an omage to the old Norse take on dwarves. In Nordic mythos the dwarves weren't small in stature, they were in fact giants, of incredible strength and girth. How the change in stature came about we don't really know but this is also why in the cinematic Thor Ragnarok Peter Dinklage was huge. These are great little nods to the past

I have a question regarding the lore again. This one is more of something to discuss and speculate on. As we have hints of it from what I've noticed, but no definitive answers I don't think. Anyway, I'd like to propose the question....What sort of mental illnesses do you think Death may have? I personally have about three in mind that he may have. I'm sure you guys have more knowledge in this subject than I. So I'm curious to see what you think. The illnesses I believe he may have are C-PTSD, Avoidant Personality disorder, and Survivor's Guilt. If you'd like to discuss this more in detail let me know. As I said I'm curious about what you think and again you likely have more knowledge in psychology than someone who doesn't have a major in that field and is basing this on information I found on various health sites.
@TrueMastersandMorons

Neither of us majored in psychology either, and truthfully we never really considered that Death had any mental illnesses, though he unquestionably has survivors guilt, (just didn't realize that was categorized as a mental illness). That being said... without looking into those that exist? No idea what he may or may not have. He's mildly anti-social; driven, cares about at least War a great deal (though possibly because of some guilt there) if not his other two siblings; and has that same kind of quiet confidence and borderline arrogance that often accompanies powerful or ageless beings, and nearly always comes with those who (like Death) have both power and borderline immortality.
@UnseelieFaelass

I do know you need to have four or more symptoms of an illness to be diagnosed with it. Before I knew about C-PTSD, I thought Death may have had PTSD. But after looking at comparison chart and the symptoms of C-PTSD, it made more sense for Death to have that. We do see flashbacks of one traumatic event Death went through in the second game. And everytime the flashbacks end, he's usually on the ground and not in the best mood. In fact you can get flashbacks from triggers, and when does the second flashback happen? Right after Death realizes the dark being in the tree is Absalom. Granted he doesn't have much of a surface reaction, but he does tend to keep his emotions from being seen or noticed. Not wanting anyone to know when something is bothering him. So that explains his lack of a surface reaction. However right after the conversation ends, Death has a flashback of his final battle with Absalom, who the wiki admits was the eldest brother of the family before he died at Death's hands. At the end of the flashback Death is on his knees screaming in agony and sorrow at what he's done, and when the next cutscene begins Death is just getting up after being on his knees. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't people with either form of PTSD reenact the traumatic incidents sometimes during flashbacks? Also worth noting is that apparently C-PTSD suffers go out of their way to avoid interaction or relationships. Death isn't too fond of interactions from what I can tell, but he'll occasionally find someone worth talking with. Such as the Makers, The Crowfather, his siblings, and a few others. As for avoidance of relationships, pretty sure that's there, in a way at least. Death doesn't get too close to new people he meets. Hell he doesn't have too much of a reaction to Eidard's death because of that, I think. Granted he does yell "No!" when he sees Eidard about to get squished by the Guardian. But after that not much. If anything he shows respect towards Eidard when he dies, nothing else. But again it may just be him hiding it again. This is just my evidence to support the idea of Death maybe having C-PTSD. I'll admit that the Avoidant Personality Disorder is a bit of a stretch. But I do have some evidence for it too. Death for one literally lives on a dead world away from everyone and no one on that world save for him, Despair, and Dust live there. He's quite literally as alone as it gets, when not being visited by anyone. That's not much to go on I know, but Death is a mysterious person and as the wiki states, he prefers it that way.

I’m thinking that bc of tying himself to the amulet and his connection to Death through Dust allowed the Crowfather to anchor himself to Death and thus force himself into the cycle of reincarnation. This allowed his soul to cleanse itself, there by burning out the corruption that had festered in his soul.
@TrueMastersandMorons

That is weirdly plausible, and a theory that could explain why the CrowFather could be older than the makers while still going through the well. It's not something we'd thought of before, and the Nephilim definitely pass through the well, just like (presumably) angels and demons, so... could be, and cool idea, just convoluted enough to seem like a legitimate crowfather plan.

Also the maker's since they created the well of souls an the realm of the dead potentially might have created a backdoor of sorts that allowed them to bypass, or opt out of entering those places. I could see it honestly the race choosing if they wanted to enter the well themselves, as a sort of boon an perk of their role in the creation of those places. Also with all the knowledge that the crowfather had gained an holds over he eons of time he has lives he might have found out what mechanic, or what have you the makers placed in to their creation of the well an the deadlands to be able to do that.

can someone please explain how the abomanation vault novel and the comics fit into the same canon as the games
@TrueMastersandMorons
@TrueMastersandMorons 4 жыл бұрын
The Devs have said the games supersede the book for canonocity, so if anything conflicts between the two, the games are the canon "world state" if you will. Anything not directly addressed though could be inferred to be accurate, and almost nothing in the book conflicts with the games at large thus far.
