As spring is nearly arriving, I spent last week transforming a corner of my bedroom into my dream cozy victorian cottage mini library/reading nook. I have been wanting to do this makeover of this space for so long and it ended up turning out even better than I envisioned. I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did filming it. Oh Darling desi, how i wish we could be friends in real life. Your videos speak to my heart the person you are brings a kindness and gentleness to my life that i only realize is missing when i see your new videos pop up. To have a friend like minded and wonderful as you is a blessing even just over the internet. I could picture going to eachothers house having tea and reading in spring time. Swapping books from our personal libraries, leaving little notes in books for eachother to find later, running through meadows of flowers. i have no one i can really be myself around, or that feeds and enjoys that part of me that wishes she was in a classic novel. OMG the green with the floral wallpaper is so pretty! Very cottagecore. Friendly note, spiders are an important part of nature, but I hate finding them in my house too, so maybe consider the glass and paper technique to toss them outside. They keep the other bugs under control in the summer which is always a plus! Enjoy your cosy book nook!

We usually try to do that, but where this one was on a ceiling was too high for either of us to reach, unless with the fly swatter 🙁 And sadly Binx had an extremely swollen and puss filled toe the other day and the vet thinks it was some kind of spider bite. So for now, the spiders can stay outside 🌳

From the Mixed Up Files was one of my very favourite books when I was growing up, and I still have it. You will love it!! Also, the nook is absolutely gorgeous. I love how it came together. You have a knack for cozy and getting the cottagecore vibe just right, especially with the books and art. Seeing the space come together was so lovely!! Even your Brooklinen ad was so good. I've got about a dozen Little Free Libraries within walking distance of my house (including our own!) and I know where each one is by heart although we do keep a list of addresses, which we print copies of to put in ours. It's so fun finding new ones we didn't know about. One of them is built into the stump of a tree and it has a cute little roof on it and a small door in the side where a gnome lives. Also...you are allowed to take more than one book you know. You didn't have to leave Despereaux behind if you wanted it.

Yay!!! I could not sleep last night, so I was binging Desi's videos for spring, waiting in anticipation for it to come and the time I can prepare and romanticize all I can of it. It's one of my favorite seasons; I am so happy to wake up to such a wonderful video!!! I am moving soon, hopefully back to New England, where I grew up if things work out, and I love and miss the seasons. So until next month, I can't decorate and stuff just yet, but hopefully, I will be a force of nature with my love of spring! Thank you so much, Desi, for your wonderful and wholesome content!!!!

Oh the Paper Place!!! So glad you chose it, an excellent summer read, it mentions some places in Connecticut in flashbacks, where I live and are very familiar with. The characters are so well developed, it really pulled me in I didn't want to put it down and to this day I still find myself thinking of different scenarios in it.

I love decorating seasonally sometimes even monthly. My husband collected quilts. We had to stop because we have so many. Some we never use, the one made out of menswear and the crazy quilt patch one never see the light. But the rest are fair game! I have one made by my sister in law hanging on a wall. Throne of glass to me sounds like a perfect series for you! The story completely evolves and changes as the story progresses. By the third book it’s not even the same series, it’s so complex and beautiful. It has romance and adventure and I’d definitely not give up on it until you’ve tried more maybe because the first two books aren’t as good and then the third gets really amazing!
