As a goth, I do like the midnight dance line. I personally would have picked a different colours for some of the outfitpieces (especially Yasmins). However I do think that they capture 2000s goth wibe pretty well while also doing their own thing and def looking great while at it. Some pieces I'd love to have in my own wardrobe!!

In conclusion, Bratz stays unmatched.

As one of the late 2000/early 2010s emo kids who became big on goth lolita in my later teens before going full on fantasycore, the Bratz goth line is one of my favorite goth representations from the 2000s together with Lina from the Fashion Pixies movie. The only things other then Bratz that comes to mind is Kim Possible's Shego being a total neon goth babe and of course, the emos from the St. Trinians movie - I'll never forget the emos going full on dramatic at the funeral of their principal's dog with the black veils and everything.

there was two lines in particular i was hoping would be here. Tokyo a go go was an obvious, i knew it would be. I wanted these dolls so bad as a child, i had the cut-outs of them from magazines that i would look at and it made my heart race with excitement every time i looked at them. so much nostalgia. i would kill to own the whole line. the other line, my personal favourite, is Midnight Dance. I'm SO happy they were included here bc i fear they are underrated but my GOD i would sell BOTH kidneys for those three dolls in box. I had the poster of them on my wall and i was OBSESSED with them. they were my first introduction into goth fashion as a young child and influenced me so much. They are so perfect to me. PLEASE PLEASE make a reproduction of this line!!!

So at their peak I was not really a Bratz doll Girly (I did like the movies and got a few as gifts but I was more of a barbie girl) but "Bratz Midnight Dance Fianna" was the only Bratz doll I ever directly asked for because goth fashion was practically unheard of at that time for fashion dolls and it looked so good. Frankly even now we don't see a lot of everyday goth wear on dolls and wish I could see more.

Everything on this list...YES. Forever Diamonds is one of my tops too, there's something about that one specific line, I remember seeing it in stores and being so captivated by them, especially Yasmine.

Midnight Dance, Pretty n Punk, Treasures and Princess are my favourites.

As a trad goth I would vibe with the midnight dance girls so well. They look like the og goths and i bet they have the best music taste ever. We would be dancing to london after midnight at the graveyard together 😌

commenting again to vouch for the midnight dance line: i would absolutely wear these outfits to my city’s monthly goth/post punk night. highkey wish bratz would just have a clothing line where you can get human sized versions of the play line clothes lol

oh my god, i had the Girls Nite Out Yasmin and i was absolutely obsessed with her!!! her dress is so chic, i adored all the accessories as well! this has brought back such lovely memories :')😊

12:24 my older sister has one of the mini CDs and I LOVED that thing when I was little! I somewhat recently rediscovered "So Good" and I can hardly believe how well it holds up. even shared it on a discord server and a couple of the few active members seemed to like it (one guy who had never heard of it seemed very happy to find it on spotify)! as much as I listened to it as a kid, I don't think nostalgia is affecting anything other than how _excited_ it makes me lol

Tokyo a go go is in my opinion the best bratz line. Soooo many details on each doll, the outfits were soooo detailed and cute and so many accessories

It is literally impossible to find bratz in the area i live in. Idk if they ever were even sold in toy stores here but like a month ago i found an absolute gem. In a local little thrift shop i found like ten bratz dolls and a big box of their hair brushes, shoes and clothing items. I WISH i could buy all of that but i was on a budget so i only bought a winter Jade and a girl nite out Cloe and my friend bought a standard Meygan and the big box of bratz things. These were also our first ever bratz dolls in our collections and i dont think we couldve started with better dolls

Pretty n Punk is my favorite line. Particularly Jade in this style.

Also, I agree that flashback fever was an incredible line. And I like that they take on it was very much that era inspired. They were not necessarily trying to do a stereotypical take on it. None of them looked like they went to the decades aisle at party city. Yasmin‘s 70s hippie inspired look was very much inspired. And honestly felt a lot more accurate than what I think. A lesser designer could’ve done. Like, the stereotypical isn’t always real. And all of these felt very much more actually inspired by the 70s. Like Sasha looks more than I think, other lines would’ve been able to get if they did a disco doll. If that makes any sense. Flashback fever understood the assignment.

I was into bratz in 2005 and 2006 as a child but yet I never saw these wonderful lines released at that time except for rock angelz which me and my sister got for christmas. I don't recall ever seeing adverts for them or anything. shame because these are some of the best and now cost a fortune even second hand haha. especially midnigh dance and tokyo a gogo as a person into goth and japanese fashion they are right up my alley

midnight dance is what made me drop barbie like a hot potato when i was a kid. I was already sick of being force fed feminine pinks (I like them more now lol) but I vividly remember shopping with my mom and seeing meygan on the shelf and BEGGING. I did think they screamed goth at the time, especially in a way no other doll line did. I'd love to have her again. Is there a word for something even more far fetched than a grail doll?

i’m pretty biased since i own them in near full completion but funk n’ glow wave 1 is one of my faves. i think it not only captures the personality and preferences of the characters so well, but also the aesthetic and charm of the early bratz era. the tiny light up jackets are adorable and most of mine still work today which is kinda crazy considering they’re older than me! again they have TONS of accessories and i constantly see their pieces used in restyles (especially jade’s pants) which kinda show how well that line’s held up

The goth line was absolutely hot topic with some more proper goth lines thrown in. Which is NOT a complaint, it's very much what a goth teenager in that time era would be able to get a hold of. Hot Topic while sometimes getting that gift of the really high quality goth fashion. I love it, it's how I dressed as a teenager when I was a goth.

As someone who is a bit of a Goth, I agree that the midnight line was well done. It was romantic and I think it’s important for people to know that Goth has many different sub, genres and styles within it. And they take on that flavor of Goth was done very well. But yeah, they didn’t need to lighten anyone’s skin. And I think it would’ve been good for them to include more characters and show that doesn’t mean you have to be, pale white

Midnight Dance is so wonderfully 2000’s goth, the jeeeans honey, major throwback, but the lightened skin tones are truly so unfortunate

I’m a Jade Bratz collector and I’m still trying to find “Pretty and Punk” Jade to finish my collection! I’m so jealous 😭

Initially I was surprised to see the Princess line be so popular because at a glance, it looks so much like a more well thought out version of the Birthday line(not a high bar). But then I saw the other outfits with it and I was like omg nevermind this is just, actively better cause you can still mix and match.

Wow, I recently went through my old toy box which i shared with my sister and I had two dresses that I couldn't identify. But after watching this video, I recognize them as Formal Funk Jade's dresses and I recall having rest of the accessorizes as well. The pink dress I threw out cause the quality was really bad, the glitter bodice was peeling and the straps were gone. I know our family threw out a lot of our toy "collection" so I don't have a full collection of any doll I used to play with. It's always bittersweet recognizing old dolls, a part of me wished I could have taken better care of them but then I also wouldn't take away all the fun I had playing with the dolls and their clothes which 9/10 times will result in damage. It's just how it is I guess!

I’m so surprised no one mentioned Genie Magic, Forever Diamonds, or Bratz Treasures. Tokyo A go-go for me goes hand in hand with Bratz treasures cause of Gwen’s Stefani’s Rich Girl. She had the Tokyo bratz in her music video. And in my opinion, she and her background dancers were dressed like the treasures dolls. But this is a super solid set up. I got so excited when you mentioned Bratz Princess. Gorgeous set of dolls, I still have my Roxxi❤️

This wasn't included but one of my favorite lines was Sportz/X-treme sportz, the way they were able to make the girls serve c#nt while in sports uniforms (which is considered some of the least fashionable clothes) is so cool to me, I currently have a vintage inbox X-treme Sportz kickboxing Cloe doll that I got an eBay and I love her, she has one of the prettiest Cloe faces and kickboxing was a sports activity I did when I was a senior in HS.

I'd love to get my hands on the Midnight Dance dolls but they are priced exorbitantly on the 2nd hand market. As a former goth & punk in the 80's (still goth & punk at heart), I think the dolls and outfits are adorable but not as "goth" as they could be. However, if they release repros I will gladly snatch them up! The negatives would be bell bottoms (the lace ones are cute though), blue jeans (switch the blue jeans for jet black jeans slim fit straight legged & tucked in combat boots like Doc Martens), knitted sweater anything (the poncho is cute but not goth) and the lack of heavy black eyeliner would be design areas that could be improved. I do like the romantic aesthetic, vibrant hair colors and dark lipstick. Just guessing, but I think they lightened the skin tone as goths are all about pale light/white skin. Never seen a tan goth in person or at any of the concerts I went to lol. I also love the punk set & was happy when they released reproductions & introduced Sasha to the line.

I got Fianna, her name is two letters off from mine and she definitely dresses how I would’ve if I was a teenager in 2005 instead of an awkward 9 year old

I think Formal Funk Jade is objectively the best doll from that line and I would like to make a me-sized version of her purple dress, which has those mirror sequins that I am obsessed with, in contempt of this commentary Princess line is also not overrated, it is the most bratty Bratz line, thank you for speaking truth there (but def overpriced), and I feel like its starting to become tired for people to say how they don't like it. I'll also make a human sized version of Jade's outfit from that line My honorable mentions - Sunkissed Summer, Campfire, and all those early basic fashion lines for being the bread and butter of Bratz but espeically Funk Out

Bratz was after my time, so this is a cool overview. Really love the punk and Tokyo lines, and the Gothic one is nearly there for me. Not surprised to see Rock Angels on here. Everything else is underwhelming to me, but it's interesting seeing what left a lasting impression.

These goths are way better than rainbow high's attempt at goth.

One of my personal favourite lines is Tokyo A Go Go cause I have been a weeabo since birth apparently. For me the Rock Angelz line was fine, what I really loved was the album they released which is full of bops that I listen to even now at almost 30 years of age.

my first bratz doll was an off that nr 8 dolls and i still have a lot of the accessories but im not sure i still have my Cloe because one of her harms broke even that i keep playing with her until i started to focus on my middle school finals in 2016

The only thing I wanted to add is that there's more to being goth than dressing goth, but still, the Bratz beautifully portrayed the romantic goth look. I can see these dolls inspiring a lot of goths when they were kids (unfortunately, I never got one of them)
