Absolute class episode. To say Darrell knows his stuff is a massive understatement. I used to get my fishing gear from the shop that he worked in as a teenager and even then you could tell he was special. To see the angler he has become fills me with pride. He was always going to smash it!!

I fished on Orient now for 8 Weeks in total (5 years) and only blanked, but made my own experiences and I really enjoyed to listen to darrell and explaining how he got onto his fish... Its about the journey to the first one...and keep pushing yourself every single session!

Wow! how did you get a bivvy boat past the Mrs? When I’ve been to the tackle shop I can usually get anything past the Mrs “oh this rod? I’ve had this for years” But I think she would have more questions with a bivvy boat on on a trailer. Great work Darrell.

I once camped in the campsite on the banks by the harbour for a week. The place is absolutely MASSIVE, absolutely intimidating and awe inspiring. Massive respect to Daryl for the determination. I managed to catch one fish on a quick evening session....it was a 4oz pike on a spinner, but I'm counting it!

I live half an hour from Hombeek, fished it like 3 times. Hate the mentality of those unemployed carp fishermen who rotate swims until they have algae growing under their armpits. But it does hold some of the finest commons in the entire Benelux.

A "vindage" 😂 its a vidange, it means to empty. Mange tout rodders, mange tout! 😂 Also, the caterpillars are procession caterpillars that nest in pines. You or your dog breathe in their hairs and it can be a big problem.

"Any idea on why your car got burnt out?" "Well, we were fishing in someone else's country breaking all sorts of rules and generally taking the piss. Then i was rude to and lied to a local angler who called me out about it. To this day, I still can't understand it." 😂 Oh, and the next two times I went back there I broke the rules again. 😂 and people wonder why english anglers are starting to get filled in, and their cars smashed up out here.

When you're not bothered by 150 Euro fine you know you are proper stroke puller and will do what ever it needs to be done to catch carp

I have always considered Darrell as one of the best carp anglers around but I gotta say I've lost a bit of respect hearing how willing he is to break the lake rules for a bite. Im sure we could all do better if we fished places that were out of bounds or times that are restricted. Not a good example to young anglers.
