Darren early on in the show did his typical “who was dragged here” along with “who doesn’t really know Broadway” (it’s billed as a Broadway event) and one guy sitting right in front of me raised his hand for both - so Darren dedicated the show to him in the hopes that he’d leaving saying “that Darren guy was pretty okay”.
Near the end of the set, he asked if the guy had any requests which he didn’t so I ran back to him and whispered “Midnight Radio” so he yelled it out. Darren laughed and said something like “Well, we know that lady knows I played Hedwig” or something like that. And that led to this mashup which I’ve seen other videos, but never live.
I was able to see him as Hedwig in NY, SF, and LA and as J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in NY, so it was wonderful to hear this again.
