"They're gonna help me sing a song that I worte about um... Harry Potter"

So this one time a college kid wrote a song for a Harry Potter parody musical that he and a bunch of his friends were putting on. Cut to a few years later and he’s performing that same song as part of the Presidential Inaugural celebrations in front of the First Lady.

That moment when you're listening to this beautiful song, wonderfully performed with a professional gospel choir, at a major event, and you realize the song is from a show called "A Very Potter Musical." Sometimes I just love the world.

WhAt just the fact that they played a potter song and a lot of people prob thought it was some deep song

It's crazy, how far the Starkids have come.

Anyone else expect Joey and Bonnie to come out and say,"Hey Harry" at 2:55 ?? That would have been totally awsome..

When he says "now, I know it ain't easy..." I waited for "no it ain't easy"

I watched the rehearsal and I freaked out, my second thought: Has the President seen A Very Potter Musical?

I wonder if anyone from the audience knew this was from AVPM.....

I love this. It shows us that even though Darren has moved on from Team Starkid and on to Glee, he hasn't forgot about his fans from TSK. He started with us and he is still with us, the fans. We love you Darren.

At the end when darren total gets into it and forgets he has to sing into the microphone. That just shows that he isint doing all this to get famous. Starkid wasnt supposed to catch on the way it did, he doesnt do glee to be a public figure. He doesnt perform to be liked, he sings and "does music" because it is something he is so passionate about. He completely lost him self in that song, he got so into it and that is why he is liked. Because his sucess hasnt gone to his head at all.

He went from making covers of Disney Songs in his room, to Starkid Productions, to Glee, and now to the Presidential Inauguration. His fans cannot be more proud of him

This song was actually written long before they decided to use it for AVPM. It was written for a friend who was suffering through cancer with Adele's vocals in mind a couple of years or so prior.

This means so much to me. This song first blessed my ears when I stumbled upon a Harry Potter musical. And there was Darren, with his mini afro, sat on a suitcase on an empty stage and a drawn on lightning scar. Now he's an award winning actor in prime-time TV, a broadway star and let's face it, a national treasure. The boy who never turned up to class in University of Michigan is singing a song, which has saved so many lives since 2011, to the whole world and the president. He's made it.

Such feels. I just wanna cry thinking, "Once a Starkid, always a Starkid". He'll always be Harry Potter, along with Daniel Radcliffe :)

He is so underestimated as a singer, songwriter, actor and dancer. I wish people could see how talented he really is

sitting in my dorm at the University of Michigan and I am SO proud to go to the same school he went to. Darren has come so far. This makes me so emotional.

I could tell Darren wanted to get off that chair and just start dancing. Good on you Darren this song gives me the chills every time.

For the record this song has NOT been written for AVPM, he wrote it for his EP and then they used it in AVPM...
