HyperREKZboss2 well not entirely true The other Inquisitors were weak yes But the Grand Inquisitor, their leader was trained by Vader, the only one he trained If one studies his technique the Inquisitior knew Dooku’s Makashi, he doesn’t rely on using both blades of his saber staff It’s as if he knew the weakness of a saber staff and uses single blade style to cover it The weakness of a Saberstaff is its horizontal strikes often leave the hilt exposed for strike It was as if the Grand Inquisitor was smart enough to use a mix of single and double blade style in his fights to keep a foe off guard He was really strong, strong enough to keep Kanan on the ropes The other Inquisitors in Contrast lacked technique as swordsmen, they rely on swinging their double bladed lightsabers, its buzzsaw/helicopter feature, their Force Powers, sheer numbers, etc. Outside their Force Power which was comparable to a Fully Trained Padawan to Jedi Knight like Ezra and Kanan, they had no hope against Maul The Grand Inquisitor only lost because Kanan, thinking Ezra was killed, let go of his fear and embrace the Force, which gave him the power to push back a superior skilled and stronger opponent At the end, the Grand Inquisitor became desperate and used the buzz saw feature of his Saberstaff which left him open for Kanan to counter and sever it The Grand Inquisitior was the Ghost Crew’s strongest opponent besides Vader and the Emperor The reason why the other Inquisitors were a challenge because of their numbers, and Kanan was back to his normal power level Had Maul fought the Grand Inquisitor, Maul would win, but the Grand Inquisitor would put more of a fight

He doesn't have a character arc, that's the brilliance about him. He has an incredible story arc but his character and personality never change. It's so perfect because when Obi-wan finally kills him on Tatooine, it's because Obi has grown, learned, and changed since their duel on Naboo, he's become wiser and more powerful than ever. Maul, was stunted because of his constant blind rage and need for revenge, this means that he was the same person that fought Obi-wan all those years ago, Obi outgrew him so he summarily beat him. A beautiful story for Maul as he could never see beyond his own desires to become greater. Like I said, story arc and character arc are 2 different things, character arc is when someone is one kind of person at the beginning and a different person at the end. Maul as a person never really changed, he just got more fleshed out. His story arc was incredible because well.. y'know.. we all know xD

Yea part of this is the fact that maul doesn't just beat his opponents he feels a need to physically overpower and destroy them. This means that sometimes when he may have an oppening to finish someone off he will strike a non fatal blow just to show them he is more powerful and to satisfy his need to completely and unrefutably overpower his opponents.

Obi wan has kicked savage, anakin and grievous. Obi wan likes to cut off his enemies limbs

Maul almost defeated sidious and Ashoka almost beat Vader, so buy this logic, if Ashoka joined maul in season 7 they both could’ve defeated Vader

Maul IS the posterboy for Juyo. However, it is not his only chosen lightsaber form. He trained in Niman, which encompasses all lightsaber forms, and most likely Ataru, due to how acrobatic and energetic he is. And most importantly, he was trained in Teras Kasi, a martial art designed for non-Force users to combat Jedi.

Demon King he never had a chance against sidius and she never stood a chance against Vader although a team up would be deadly

@@demonking3855 Ahsoka didn't really almost defeat Vader, she got a good hit, but that's only because wasn't paying attention to her, she would have died and I think she actually did, but was pulled through the portal, and maul didn't beat Sidious, He Was screwing with him the whole time. I don't think they would have defeated Sidious, not Just them at least, they'd need Yoda and obi wan or others, and even then it's still a stretch

All force sensitives use there force powers to enhance there skills with a lightsaber he just didn't use force push or pull

@@generalgrievous4674 but considering Maul usually uses the force to enhance his speed and agility while fighting jedi, he obviously held back while fighting Visla, you can't tell me that Maul can successfully fight two jedi at once while making it look easy, to then seem like he's only just on par with the skill of a lone Mandalorian. I dunno I have always felt like Maul was a whole lot weaker than he should have been in that series, either that or everyone else is a whole lot better than they should be. Maul is known to use the darkside to enhance his physical capabilities more than any jedi or anyone else likewise, and he's good enough with the force to be pin point accurate while few others in existence have that level of skill. Either he holds back a lot, or Disney fucked up his character traits lol

To be fair besides haha funny, maul isn't particularly strong, and obi+qui gon were striking down at him, so anything other than stepping back would've been suicide, as maul is only in control when on offense; he would fail to hold the bodyweight of two adults, causing him to hit himself with his saberhilt, dazing him and then leaving him completely open to be killed Moving them aside with da force wouldn't work either, maul is damn near always an offense man, a jedi master and padawan suddenly attacking him from both sides after he lowered his guard to use the force would've killed him. The scene doesn't show fault in choreography, it shows how incredibly tactical maul was even at 17.

Maul didnt use force enhancements in that fight. Maul respected the duel and they fought warior to warior

@@generalgrievous4674 It was stated in a novel that Sidious was trying his hardest to kill Maul and he was actually matched by him in lightsaber combat after Savage was killed. Also, he was arrogant against Kanan, he was so arrogant that he literally forgot common knowledge that people don't need their eyes to see when they have the force.

@@sammcdermott78 He is still a sith regardless if Sidious replaced him or not, the rule of two does not have to apply. The Sith only enforce it to ensure there is no corruption like what happened to the Sith Empire in the Old Republic Era. Two teams could fight for dominance if they wanted to, like for example if Maul and Savage lasted longer and trained (mostly Savage since he was far more in need of training) They could challenge say Dooku and Sidious for that title of the Dominant role of Sith in the galaxy.

Just because another dark force user claims he’s not apart of the sith (which no one said, closest thing was sidious simply telling maul he was replaced as his apprentice) He’s made it clear that he is sith/ and or that he follows the ways of the dark side. He is a sith by doing just that and sticking to the rules of two, following his passion of hate for example. The only thing he isn’t, is that he is not the dominant sith in the galaxy.

You can tell that it was him. He ignites the saber and pulls his right hand back to his hip in Ep1 and Season 7. Fun fact: Toad (played by Ray Park) in the OG Xmen movie does the same thing when he gets a stick to swing around. It was thrown in as Park saying "Yeah, it's me."

@@dinkelicious_ That’s fair! I think it’s real close between Dooku, Anakin, and Maul, but I think Dooku and Anakin were more reliant on the force to compliment their saber skills, whereas Maul in battle was almost entirely skill, rarely ever using the force. Arguments can def be made for all three

@@ODISeth A good comparison between Maul and Dooku is the how they fought against Obi Wan. Maul lost to Obiwan as a padawan while Dooku mopped the floor with him as a Master. Also Dooku could go toe to toe with Yoda in lightsaber combat.

I play Smash competitively so my comparison is when you demolish someone and then SD during their Star-KO, thus giving them the win. You were more skilled, you just made one mistake out of confidence. Ya feel? Besides if you consider matchups as your measure of skill, Obi-Wan should be considered the most skilled, since Anakin beat Dooku and Obi-Wan beat Anakin. But… I don’t think that’s right.

@@greganderson6371 I would disagree. I think he was a fully fledged sith. And even if there was any doubt in the phantom menace, he definitively was after his reconstruction. He had channeled his anger and power for so long to stay alive that he was too powerful to simply be an assassin anymore. That’s why he craved power. He also raised a powerful apprentice in Savage Oppress. Assassins don’t raise apprentices. Only people with enough knowledge and skill can do that. The inquisitors were pure assassins. Maul killed Qui Gon at I believe age 18. He wasn’t simply an assassin. He was a fully fledged Sith Lord.

@@shoeman6966 maul was a sith lord, but he was never a trueblood sith master like sidious or plagueis, he could've been turned, his saber combat was flawed, and his knowledge of the force didn't much stem beyond what a jedi knight would know of the dark side

@@amvcentral9198 I would agree with all of that except for him being able to be turned. He was raised in darkness and hate since he was a young child, because Palpatine took him as a young child. Rage is all he knows. I don’t think he could’ve been turned.

@@theodekoff5387 Well, Phantom Menace took place 32 years prior to A New Hope, and Revenge of the Sith was 19 years prior. I think Rebels takes place one year before (or at least ends one year before) A New Hope. So I guess you can at least estimate how much time has passed.

Neither him nor Obi Wan were proficient, as far as I know, in a defensive style. In fact that fight is the reason Obi Wan developed a defensive style.

Obi-wan and Qui gon were practionsioners of form IV, its naturally aggressive and lacked defense.

It doesn't really show their power at all, most of the time when Maul loses it's because of his own arrogance. Ofc this isn't the case in the sidious fight.
