I most definitely recommend watching The Unknown Soldier (2017) movie. There is a version of The movie with english subtitles.

The 1955 version, the 1st one, is the most loyal to the novel. And best of these 3 versions, IMO. 1985 version is very different... but kinda good.

It really is time to remember and respect. War was not so long ago. My granny did born before Finland got independence! My grandad was at war first time when he was only 16. Non of my granparents are here no more, but I really do remember the stories. My dads dad always told us, that someday Russia will attack again. Not if. When. Im just glad he is not here to see whats going on. And ball. Whats odd in that? Balls are not only for royalty? I did not watch it this year, I was outside, watching snow and candles at cemetery.

Can´t get why he thinks it´s odd? He also said, because they are not Royals, that´s why it´s so odd. WTF? He´s our president and I don´t see any oddness in it.

I light the candles and go to sauna.. No to watching the Presidents ball.. or maybe if i cant sleep then tv on and me off to dream world😊.. Quiet day at home

No thank you to the ball in president's palace. I'm probably not the only Finn who doesn't watch it on TV. It is a show that is 95% about politicians, celebrities and athletes. If I feel the need to hear their "words of wisdom", I can get it year round from a magazine called Seiska.
