Another great review. I like that Dimitri has signed on for Target, he has been the 4th player from Unicorn darts to have joined Target, plus I like throwing a 23G dart, might be another set for my collection, I like the sand colour, it’s different than the colours that you might normally see with darts & Dimitri is a great player, keep up the great review

I didn't realise dimitri had moved to target. Hope it works out for him. Trust target to over complicate his darts though. Suppose they want them to stand out. Thanks for the review. All the best

Yeah its been a rumour for a while now that must had twigged when all the old Unicorn Dimi darts were on sale in various shops, and as his contract with them was not renewed it was kind of a good guess it was Dimi moving to Target. They have certainly added a bit more to appeal to a few more grip styles I think, just hope they work well for Dimi. Cheers! :)

Dimi is very much a rear gripper. That front gnurling/micro grip probably ensures an extra bit of balance when he points the darts out off his middle/ring finger. Nice design over all

I like this new release of darts, they look very different from the unicorn set, but when you actually think about it, they're not that different at all, it's just the shape at the front and the grip has slightly changed. Very nice darts, just wondering when the Huybrecht brothers are going to join Target as well or are they going to join Red Dragon 🤔. Great review Darren 👍🏼🎯

Overall a nice dart, grip reminds me of Gary Anderson’s darts which provide excellent grip. Pineapple nose. Not a fan of Swiss points. Would have liked the sand blasting to extend to the entire barrel.

Another outstanding review from the OG. The darts look not bad imo but I can see why people wouldn't like them with the price and over complexity which doesn't line up with previous DVDB models. Now time will tell whither he will like them or not

He tested different barrels and grip but wanted these ones with swiss points. I hope we get a new version without sp in the future(I like target storm points). Unicorn didn’t want to listen to dimi to change ’his’ darts and some problems with his points that didn’t get solved. Need to give him some time and wants to be at his best at the wc with his darts. Didn’t have much time to train with them when he was in australia. He started with 23gr target before he went to unicorn.

Darren; really nice review. I like the looks of the dart but question the points. It looks like they will damage the board with that micro grip (a no-no for home players). At least the points are easy to change out. The four different grip areas on the barrel are definitely different; might take some time to get used to it. Thanks and keep the reviews rolling.

Thanks! :) Guess it depends how soft the board is, throwing at that Aspar the points did not even reach the micro grip just the criss cross etching and that well wear after a while like all the other points like that, but as its a Swiss point you can change them to smooth ones easily if you prefer those :) Cheers! :)

I'm now using the LTD Dimitri Darts for +- 2 weeks (2à 3 hours a day), on a couple of days i used other darts. In my case they work perfect for me. Love them, don't know if its in my head or if it really are the barrels but i throw best with this set currently Cons: (but pro wins in my case) i already broke a DX point at the bold(26mm silver, so now the 30mm is on). Hope this doesn't happen each week (bounced back of the bull ring, had a short nylon stem on and that one survived) I will now keep using the 30mm and hope its not the SP that is weak but its just a unlucky event that would also have broken a normal point. if i don't break any SP this month i will buy some spares, otherwise i will repoint them with none SP. my other but really minor issue is that it eats flights, tried with adding a trident but the sp bold is to big, and don't like it if its just before it. in the beginning i also had more robin hoods than normal, but found that this was caused by me, i was to carefull with the alminium top on the titan short shaft, turn it hard on when flight is in. Otherwise the top is a little open and the first dart that passes your flight close will stick in it.

I was looking forward to this review. Nice one as always. Having said that I must admit that the look of the darts is just fine and not fascinating. Better than the Unicorn version as far as I am concerned. Anyway straight barrel darts is not my cup of tea. Let's see how he deals with them as soon as the German Darts Open is on the way. Cheers!

Mmmm a bit of a mish mash really….. nastri grip on the Nose,Taylor sandblasting,then ring and shark grip…… a long way away from his unicorn darts which were simple and he had so much success with…… be interesting to see how he does but I hope (but feel it will be) he doesn’t struggle with them…….. I must admit I do love the and colour shafts and pleased in the limited edition they have brought back zirconium!!!!!……. Hope we will see more of that in the October launch

It is a bit of a change to his older more simpler ones for sure, will be interesting to see how he gets on with them though, if not so well then I think a Gen 2 version more like his old ones will be coming out before too long :)

Do you have any ideas on how to reapply paint to grooves when it gets removed? I think nail polish is okay but its hard to apply without getting over the rest of the dart which is really hard to remove.

im new into darts and I would like to know why the point on these darts have grip and whats the pros and cons about it ? i bought my first set from red dragon from peter wright '' and i do not have grip on the point. Hi mate, if you are new you should join the forum as lots of info on there for beginners: www.dartsnutz.net/forum/ Grip on points is a fairly recent thing and has kind of become "A Thing" just for the sake of it in my own humble opinion, by that I think its become a little over done. There is some good reasons though. Firstly grip on the point where it enters the board allows it to stick in the board better but before all these new points came out people would just scuff their points and that would be fine, now people go to all kinds of extremes but personally I have never felt I needed it but fine if some people do. A lot about darts is personal preference anyway. Secondly some people rest their finger on the point and having some grip where they rest the finger may help them keep it in place without slipping. I can understand that but again its not something I have felt I truly needed but now and then especially on shiny silver points I may find my finger slips so in such cases I can see why having grip on the point can help. But I also think adding grooves etc can weaken the point and increase the chance of it breaking :)

Guess you have not been reading all the promo stuff then lol Yeah he has used a simpler dart before which is why I ask at the end I wonder how he will get on with them. Also as seen in my comparison pic the new ones are a bit longer too. I liked the dimension of his old ones but there was not much grip for me as a frontie on those. But it is a little worrying if they will work for him after having used the others for so long. Guess we will see in the coming months. :)

Alright Darren, aye at first I thought you were breaking out the moves 😂🤣😂....till I seen wee Dimitri's face. For me it's just a bit weird. I mean what is the point of the Sand blasting ? Dimi has a middle grip but holds a finger on the tip of the barrel and support finger on the point. The knurling and points help his ‘’support fingers’’ keep grip, his gripe with the unicorn darts he had up til now was that during matches he would slide off of that part when drawing back (since he spins his dart a little). Dunno if the interview is available in english, but on our Belgian tv he did an interview explaining, basically what I’ve typed here

@@DartsReviewChannel the £60 mystery box had red dawn darts, a darts stand, a 4 set hard case, a mission towel, a mission poster, a mission bag, grip wax, measuring tape, a hand warmer, pin badge, keyring, and few sets of flights and stems. Not bad for 60 quid I think I'll try the £100 too

I wouldn't say it's a completely different dart. The shape, dimensions and grip pattern are pretty much the same. The only major difference is the grip itself.

I never saw it but some people have said he was scoring well but not so great on his doubles, so may be he just needs a little more time with them :)

Dimi’s doubles have been abysmal last few months. His scoring with the darts is fine, he doesn’t have those loose darts as often as he had with the unicorn’s. The biggest reason he swapped, according to him the low grip of the unicorn.

I liked Target´s designs, have the 975er, the RVB 95, a Carrera Model, but what they push into the market since last year just doesn´t appeal to me in any way. Ugly design imho. Even Bulls has better looking "new generation" darts to offer, the Stinger, Magma, Azza...hope Target will soon return to their older design philosophy. Can´t be that you have to pull out 500 or more quid if you want a good looking Target dart (Elysium)...;)
