Target Darts K FLEX Flights Review Better Than Condor AXE ?

The K-Flex look like Targets answer to the popular Condor Axe but are they better or worse? In the video I will do a quick comparison but its going to take longer to find out how durable the K-Flex are so I will do an update in a few weeks. I also show a slight problem I had with one of the stems and gave my thoughts on the K-Flex flights main feature, the twisty stem, does it actually help? Happy Darting! :)

If the 180 celebration has offended you as it seems to have a couple of people then I apologize. It has been a long running joke and is not poking fun at the guy in the pic but its because that guy made a very popular and funny video where he was pretending to be electrocuted on an amusement arcade machine that you can see in the video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZuShtGTvNHZkqs.html He says some funny things and pulls some amusing faces. Darren; nice review. I've ordered a black short set; can't wait to try them. Kudos to Target for keeping the price reasonable. Hopefully they will come out with different shapes and colors, and patterns. Thanks and keep the videos rolling.

Thanks for another detailed review Darren. It will be interesting to see a follow up in several weeks when the durability will become known. I would expect damage through use will be similar to regular shaft/flight setups. Another nice 180 too 😀😀

I got a set of the 975s that come with the kflex flights. 1 week in and a big chuck was taken out of the flight. Target was great and sent me a replacement set for free. 1 week in, and a tear started to form. I'm done with them and going back to the condors that I have had for 6 months and still look good.

this is a very nice review for me as i was looking to get me an all in 1 system like this or the condor's and i might buy both ... the condor zero stress has the ever so slight benefit of having more colours to chose from and the K flex is nice just to be able to see if they are indeed as durable as the condor's so i cant wait to try them out myself.

I was waiting to see this review I do think it's odd that they came out with a number 6 and not a standard I'm sure in the future they'll come up with different sizes thanks Darren appreciate the review 👍

Thanks Andy, I think Target have always made more no 6 than the normal standard no 2 though, not sure why but it seems like that to me :) They will come out with more shapes though eventually, would be daft not to :)

The K-flex is actually shorter than the Axes. I use the short versions for both and found that the K-flex shaft length is comparable to the short shafts of L-style. Whereas the length of the Axes are much more similar to conventional nylon stems. Also, the stem of the K-flex is thicker compared to the Axes. The Axes feel more like a slim stem.

yeah checking on only the stem part sizes its a bit smaller than the Axe.

Condor Axe flights are about $15 in my country, while the K Flex flights are about $8. I bought a couple set of the K Flex just to try them out. At first i thought they'd make my darts back heavy or drag in the air since the K Flex seem a bit thicker than the Condors. They fly quite well to my surprise. I'd have to use them a bit more to see how durable they are.

yeah if they last as long then its worth it for sure but if they dont last as well as the Axe then maybe the Axe are worth paying that bit extra for :)

Had mine for a couple of days…….never really got on with one piece set upas old school and like shaft/flight but wow as I use a number 6 size I love them and at the price point gonna take a lot of the market……good stuff

Great review and video. I was curious about these, might try a set. A person on reddit also said he had issues with getting a few to screw in. Do you think the deflections will be better or worse than the axe setup?

Thanks Edward! Yeah looks like a few people have had the same issue with the threads, Target will need to check on that I think. So far the deflections seem about the same as with the Axe but a lot will depend on how your darts sit up and how the incoming darts make contact so what might be good for me may not be for you.

Just ordered a set to try as the price is reasonable compared to others. What put me off all in one systems is they remind me of the cheapo ones attached to blunt M.Y brass darts used by fairgrounds the length and breadth of the country ensuring you don't get three darts in a playing card and win a Bugs Bunny.

I guess all all in ones could be compared to that but its not exactly a new idea as such, many have been out for years its just the materials and moulding and design have advanced :)

Hi :-) I know these are being compared to the Axe for obvious reasons lol but I was wondering which would be lighter between this and the zero stress equivalent in their shortest forms. Any ideas? :-). I'm trying to find a good all in one system or molded system but they just seem to all make my darts land flat which I hate so hoping this kflex design could be light enough to stop that. Otherwise will have to stick with standard poly stems and 75-100 micron flights lol

I dont have any to weigh but when I reviewed the Zero Stress I weighed them and compared them to a normal stem and 100 micron flight and the Zero stress medium was lighter: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htmloqlhz5ucdo0.html I think the zero stress may have been lighter than the K Flex though

Nice one! Like a lot of things in darts though some will love them and some wont but its why I always think people have to ultimately decide for themselves and only way is to try them at least once :)

totally agree Darren - was a little sceptical when I opened them - but with my 24g straight barrelled Iceman SE from red dragon, the big 20s are hitting regularly. Im going to keep using them for a month or so and see how I feel after that - so far though, so very good !@@DartsReviewChannel

I wanted to use the l style fantoms but with them and a carbon stem is 2.2 grams. Adds too much weight to the rear. Maybe ill give these a go

Interesting that you had the thread problem, I ordered a set and 2 out of the 3 just will not go into the dart. I've tried playing with the thread like you did with no luck. Retailer is sending me a new set.

I broke one without even trying to and never even had a change to throw them either. Put it in my dart gave it a good twist to make sure it was seated nicely then gave it a bit of a flex then put it down to get another dart to compare it to my usual set up, when i went back the stem was lying loose on my desk im thinking im sure i only got one out the box so picked it up and theres no threaded part on the stem. I will probably think about buying another set if they come in standard flight size tho.

You know i like the condor x alot... got me a set k flex medium to try... so far so good... got a little more flex (Less deflecting) than the condor x on them grouping... Also had one stem that struggled to go in though... would love a bigger variety on colour. But here in sa the price is the same as condor x... so lets see... im using the k flex right now... like them so far... lets see though... But people must realy use the right dart point with these type of systems (Cone shape) Just watch out for some #@# Dr@g@n points... After sales care is poor actually dont care and non existing... Maybe its cause im not pro or from SA 🤷♂😀

Yeah they seem decent so far, eliminating the lip as best as possible on any dart will help prolong any flights but some people like me like a bull nose and sometimes they can be very flat so you can only do so much to reduce it. But the Axe lasted well with darts I used that were like that and also with aggressive grip ones too :)

I’ll have to get a set of clear short nudge nudge Daz…….I use L style dimple shape with short and to be fair very good. 2+ years on same set, and never broke a stem. P.S. Claim 😂😂😂😂

Maybe the flights twist so when the incoming dart BARREL hits them they absorb the impact better, less deflection 🤷♂️

Yeah that's supposedly the idea but takes a fair bit of force to as shown and as I showed it's more likely that the darts will just pivot on anchor point of the points in the board 🙂

Most of Targets darts have always come with No 6 flights, so its quite normal for them I guess. Sure they will have other shapes eventually though :)

Not exactly, you can add cones or use special points to reduce the lip on the barrel nose but not a lot else you can do.

Looks like these will go out of shape as theyre flexible. Good review i'll be sticking with Axe as they are more rigid and the durability is proven plus they have aome orotection against snapping after a bounce out. They look ok though and price is good if they prove to be durable and stay in shape.

They are not as flexiy as the Condor Zero stress but a bit more than the Axe, I would be surprised if they lose their shape though, its still stiffer than some stems and flights. Thanks and yes I agree its still early days and jury is out on the durability, I think some have also had the same thread issue I had so maybe best to wait a while yet :)

@@DartsReviewChannel I bought a set of flex at the weekend (medium) , took out of the box and thought the flights had a lot more flex than the condor axe flights but the stems were ridgid , i never even tried them, i put them back in the box. If they made the flights as ridgid as the Axe and had a standard size i might buy another set but then they would be almost identical to axes and half the price.

@@TomRiding170 guess it depends how you flex them too, the KFlex are more flexy in the way they are advertised as in twisting, but moving them straight up and down the Kflex seem a bit more flexy than the axe to me, not a lot in it though.

I’ve had both I found condor axe so chip after good use , my knflex Have not chipped yet but I’m going back to condor axe at the moment as I think they are more durable and a tad stronger. Who knows maybe after a couple of months target will make them a little better/stronger and I’ll go back to them but I’m gonna stick to condors as they got different colours and so. I know target will eventually so will be intrigued to see what they bring out with their k flex designs , as I said maybe I’ll go back to k flex in time but for now I’m going to stick with the axe. I currently use the yellow neon and the de Sousa clear small flight and short length lol it’s something about the de Sousa ones I always go back to them lol. Would be great to get a updated view from yourself darren

Had mine for a couple of days and a big chunk broke off roughly 1cm by 1cm Not even close to condor axe which laster me over a month

heard a couple of people break them, mine are still ok, had a couple of heavy hits to the hard floor but still in one piece but still not sure if they are better or worse or even same to axe for me. Think Axe might be better in flight as its a bigger size.

Thanks! Yeah I always try to think of everything the viewer may want to see. Its funny as that other guy whos name shall not be named used to be always moaning about my videos been longer than 10 mins and yet now nearly all his are over 10 mins and longer :)

Im a huge Condor Axe fan but i'm waiting for NO2 shape so i can give these a go, Axes are indestructible and with the kflexes im worried about these threads as i mostly play on hard surfaces

@@Rougenoir1345 as I said with all these systems the only way to know is to try them at least once, I like them, but you might not, I like them for the reasons I mentioned, but as said all stems and flights can work different depending on the darts you use and how you throw them so in the end only you can decide if they work as well as your usual set up. But yes there will be minor differences which may be better or worse for each individual.

Although cheaper than Condor they are expensive in NZ. K-Flex NZ$18, Condor Zero Stress NZ$15, Axe NZ$25, Axe printed NZ$30. 1 UK pound = 2 NZ dollar. Rip off NZ!!

I'm not a huge fan of the inside joke on the 180, I'd rather someone punches up, not down when making a joke. I wouldn't feel comfortable making fun of people who drew an obviously worse hand from the cards in life, but that might just be me. The video is great though, and the K flex system looks like something I will have to try once there's a no.2 version. Have you heard anything about other shapes? Cheers

Thanks for your comments on the review/video, no not hear any info on other shapes yet. As for the 180 celebration, I am happy you told me you found it offensive but also angry and hurt that you assume I am making fun of someone you say has not been dealt a good hand in life. That is not the case at all. I made a pinned comment to explain it. It has been a long running joke by a friend who is obsessed with the video that guy made and the things he said and the faces he pulled when pretending he was really getting electrocuted on an amusement arcade machine. It never entered into my mind that it would be seen as making fun of someone, if I had thought that was the case I would not have posted the image. Myself and the guy in the video are north easterners, my friend thinks I look and talk like him but he is from Derbyshire, different accent and without going into all the details its just a joke in that way, nothing meant to offend. As someone that was taunted from a young age for having a lazy eye (squint/boss eye/cross eye whatever you want to call it) I know full well what its like to be made fun of. I still get regular nasty comments about it from many on this channel and also that other guy who reviews darts from across the pond. I have always made a point of helping people you might consider less fortunate though, when I was younger I regularly helped with the Catholic Handicapped Fellowship and when I was practicing martial arts I always took time to help and encourage new guys and ones who were less physically able, while other advanced students would not give them the time of day. You are a member of darts nutz so just message Troll who has cerebral palsy and ask him how much help and encouragement I have given him over the years on the forum. As I say I am glad you mentioned it but had to explain why it also hurt me to hear you think I was making fun of someone. I wont use that image in future, so thanks for bringing the issue to my attention. :)

Not a fan of the 180 celebration. These flights look to be pretty decent though, shame they aren't in kite shape.

What is it about the celebration you dont like, it is to do with a guy who made a funny and popular video, I am not poking fun at the guy in the image, check the pinned comment above which has a link to the guys video. Another person also said he did not like it so I will change it in future but its not meant to offend anyone. :)

The price of the K flex is worth that alone compared to condor now seen new set of them for 37.50 Canadian wen they used to be 17.50 But great review as usual Darren
