Karel byl jen jeden ale tohle jsou všechno skvělé zpěvačky! Jen někteří prostě nejsou schopni opustit minulost a jít dál. Jak znám Karla, měl by radost že někdo zpívá jeho píseň.

Regarding the comments here about how good/bad these singers are: I am surely not someone who can always recognize when a singer mishits the tone a little, but I guess that like me, many people like to hear a song when it sounds the same like they are used to hear it. As a listener, you know how the singer interprets the song, when he or she makes brakes, when he/she sings louder or softens, how the rhythm is in detail, and so on; you can even sing along (really or just inwardly). But in another version of the same song, you cannot do that anymore - so, maybe people often dislike cover versions just because they are different. If they first get acquainted with the cover version and then with the original, it may even be the other way round. I am from Germany. Some weeks ago, I watched a Karel Gott documentation on German TV; in the documentation, they told about Karel's song (which I did not know), sung together with his daughter Charlotte Ella. Last weekend, I searched for the song on KZfaq and listened to it (good that the video has German subtitles). Somehow, with the same KZfaq search, I also found a video of the tribute show. I was curious and started to watch, and though I did not understand a word, I watched till the end and enjoyed every minute. The most I liked Monika Absolonová and Dasha, especially her. I watched some videos with other videos of songs sung by her, all great, but her version of Man in the mirror - wow.
