Everyone wants to play a strong character, but for some reason, people keep trying to check tier lists when the strongest man in the universe is right here! I mean, have you seen the chunk of HP flying off when he lands a death fist? Paul is objectively, factually, and spiritually the best character in not just Tekken, but probably all of fighting games. Here's the catch though, I tried, and it turns out you can't just win by doing death fist over and over, you gotta do the thing they call practice. Don't know nothing about it, but this Joey guy does, fella is real mighty when it comes to pressing the right buttons and doing the smart stuff, who knows, maybe we can be just a little bit more like him after watching this guide!

Thank you for this guide I have been running Paul since launch to learn the game fundamentals and improve my Tekken overall. I made it to red rank but am having issues SS and using more DF2 to get shit going

Great guide. As a Heihachi main since Tekken 4, I'm picking up Paul finally in this game because his heat and new added moves are so sick. This guide helps a lot with no bs. THANK YOU JOEY

i found that if youre playing on open stages, like yakushima and coliseum, ending with fff2 is actually a better ender than demo man since youre rarely if ever going to get any wall splats on huge stages like that, so the extra few points of damage is a huge plus.

Thanks for the upload. Paul was my first main since T3. Now I casually dabble with Law and Asuka. Trying to learn Zafina because she's weird. I tend to like weird characters sans, Voldo. I kinda like Lucky Chloe. 😊

Paul power crush DB 1+2 you can follow it up with dash and quickly input DB 2 to flip your opponent over on their stomach

What do you think about the deah fists doing 5 points of damage in a clean hit? Don't you think we should complain about them setting a higher minimum for clean hits? is that even in a counter attack it can do 5 points of damage. What do you think about that?

Hi all. Out of curiosity, how do you use plus frames as Paul? His only CH string you can use from things like F1+2 is 2,1 which is nice but what else should i be doing with my frames?

I've been a lee main for the majority of my life, which is a weird thought. Thought I'd give Lars a try, but no. I'm really into paul and Claudio, couldn't be more different but they both just feel really good in this game

Yo, first off this is my favorite T8 guide on youtube by far. Your presentation and organization of info is far better than other guides. Secondly, after testing I discovered that you can do 3,2, 3,2~b,1+2, dash d+4,2,1+2 off every launcher, and it does the same damage as df+4, 3,2, b+1,2, dash d+4,2,1+2. Is there a reason why you would prefer one over the other for the other launchers in general? Thanks for this video!

He was keeping things real simple for this guide. You can technically do a single elbow (qcf1) in most combos, before df4, and still do 3, 2~sway 1+2, etc. Just to clarify you can do A LOT of elbows in a combo, but that requires quite a bit of execution. A single elbow, on the other hand, seems pretty viable for BnBs in my opinion. As an example I do two elbows in my df2 combos pretty consistently in practice, but in Ranked matches I still mostly do the single elbow. As a reference df2 qcf1 qcf1 df4 3, 2~sway1+2 d4, 2, 1+2 does juicy 75 dmg. You can do that combo off of qcb4 on counter-hit and it deals even more dmg.

@@dw5433 Because its not technically a launcher you should be using. Its very slow, linear and predictable. Its more of a gap closer move

Hi, thank you for the very useful guide! I've a question thought. Since I've been praticing with Paul, I've never understood the meaning and the execution of backsway 1+2, which you do in combo exactly on minute 14:24. I mean, I can do backsway 1+2 very easily, but in combo if you take the time to do that (you have to do qcb 1+2) you go back, you lose time and the opponent is already on the ground. On screen move list says that you do that by firts tapping back and that is what makes me wonder: how can you do backsway by first doing back and then qcb? That would take a huge amount of time. Please help! I'm a beginner

You dont have to do qcb for combos, some of the moves have backsway transition by holding back. He is doing 3,2 into hold back which puts him in backsway then simply press 1+2. df1 also has a similar mechanic

@@trnk28 if you are trying to wait for the move to finish to hold back that might be why you are failing, you can press and hold back as soon as you press 3,2 and the animation is playing out, hope that helps

@@Ada-jn5msToday I finally succeded :D it's a matter of taking the time. Personally, during the phase of 3,2 i slightly press back on my stick before the punch is hitting. You have a very short window to succesfully do a backsway, it's a matter of pratice
