Sounds like you need power only loads. Yes, you can use DAT for sure.

It sounds like hotshot to me! Research more hotshot market. Your pick up truck might be useful for this market and make money at the same time.

@@DispatchTrucks In your course do you go over the use of any AI tools to help improve setting up routs, outside of what is on DAT, or AI tools that take an interested carriers information and does their background check, driving record check, and other things necessary for you to deiced if you want to use them as one of your carriers?

@whitedragon153 I always emphasize the importance of using specialized companies for carrier vetting, background checks, and driving record verification instead of relying on AI, which isn’t yet fully developed for these critical legal tasks. Partnering with reputable companies ensures you have accurate and legally sound information, which is crucial for making informed decisions.

1. HireRight: These folks do thorough background checks, including driving records and criminal history. 2. PSP (Pre-Employment Screening Program): They offer detailed driver safety records to help you hire wisely. 3. SambaSafety: Specializes in driver monitoring and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks. 4. Driver iQ: Tailored background screening just for the trucking industry. Also, don’t forget about these trusty government sites for accurate info: 1. FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration): Great for safety and compliance data on carriers. 2. NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration): Offers resources and data on vehicle and driver safety. 3. State DMV Websites: Your state’s DMV can provide driving records and more. @@DispatchTrucks I'm assuming you go over all these in your courses? Do you also cover how to deal with a canceled load that you were expecting to be able to pick up? Do you cover want insurance you need as a dispatcher? Do you cover what to do if your carrier's truck breaks down or if the load was damaged via low bridge or accident? Do you explain how to deal with a load that was stolen off your carriers truck? These are all the things I am trying to figure out before hand. I'm just wondering if your courses go over these as well.

@lucasruiztaborda7032 In trucking, “authority” refers to the legal permission granted by the government, typically through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) in the United States, for a company to operate as a motor carrier. This involves the right to transport goods across state lines and perform certain types of commercial transportation activities. Having trucking authority includes several requirements: 1. Operating Authority: This is the official authorization needed to start a trucking business. It comes in different types, such as common carrier authority (for hire to the general public), contract carrier authority (for hire to specific shippers), and broker authority (arranging transportation of goods for compensation). 2. DOT Number: A unique identifier assigned by the Department of Transportation (DOT) for tracking safety information, compliance reviews, and inspections. 3. MC Number: Also known as a Motor Carrier number, it is required for companies that transport goods across state lines. 4. Insurance: Obtaining the necessary insurance coverage, such as liability insurance and cargo insurance, is mandatory. 5. BOC-3 Filing: A process agent must be designated for every state in which the company operates. This agent receives legal documents on behalf of the trucking company. Having authority is essential for a trucking company to legally operate and transport goods across state lines.
