On Wednesday, 12th June, we hosted the webinar “Data Led Prioritisation - Diabetes Transformation”, showcasing an exciting project that uses data to prioritise patients clinically and address health inequalities. This innovative approach aims to tackle biases and discrimination in healthcare.
Toby Garrood, Medical Director at NHS South East London ICB, opened the session by highlighting the significant challenges the NHS faces. Managing patient care, especially for those with long-term conditions, is difficult in the current climate of limited resources. He emphasised the need to reduce follow-up numbers while maintaining high standards of care.
Dagny Rajasingham, Deputy Chief Medical Officer at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), and Mark Hawkins, Founder and CEO of Factor 50, a healthcare analytics company, presented their collaborative project. Their work focuses on using data-led prioritisation to address disparities in diabetes care.
