That is hard work eliminating them like that and it's rough on their egos as well, even if they weren't very interested in him, being eliminated by him is awkward. I think a lot of people will assume he has a “thing for asians” since the last 2 were asian (even if Julia at number 3 wasn't) but that's more about other peoples biases. Gwen was one of my favourites as well.
