I'm Team Jens as well, especially since I lived with someone who once didn't believe in closing them...and I stood up quickly not realizing he had left the cupboard open, smacking my head HARD. I luckily hit the edge vs the corner, the latter would have sent me to the hospital for stitches. #keepthedoorsclosed

That is really good point when you said that it's the same thing with feeding your children animal products and not letting them to choose it. I've seen that a lot when carnivores question vegan people's lifestyle because they have the opinion that vegans or vegetarians abuse their children by not letting them choose to eat meat. But it's the same thing with not letting them to choose to not to eat animal products. So.. people just should let others to raise their children their own way and not hate them for their lifestyles differences. I agree with you in that I would cook vegetarian food at home but I'm not forcing them to be 100% vegetarian when they are somewhere.

This is very well said! My husband and I also had this discussion, and we have come to a similar conclusion. We cannot micro-manage our children, and this could lead towards parent and child resentment.

Hi Gittemary, I have a big thank you - rather unrelated to the content of this video - that I want to throw your way!! I'm a low-wasting vegetarian who has been considering decreasing her dairy intake for quite some time now.. it just always seemed so difficult and unachievable to me; especially since I live with a vegetarian family. But I decided to try your vegan-chocolate-orange cake recipe (the one with the oat pulp) today and it turned out so soft and delicious! Nobody (including me) in my family could believe that there was no milk/yogurt in the recipe!! I know that it may seem like a really small thing to somebody else, but I saw just trying the recipe and having it turn out so good to be quite a big achievement! I remember from the time when I was transitioning to a low-waste lifestyle just how important taking that (intimidating) first step is. I feel so motivated to try more dairy alternatives in different recipes now :) Love from India

Oh my gosh, I love this video so much! You two are so sweet and adorable and Jens reminds me so much of my husband. So laid back and not being set in certain ways. My boyfriend and I don’t really fight either! Friends and family think it’s weird. We see it as we disagree, we discuss we come to a conclusion. we don’t need to fight to get our points across. We just communicate with eachother.

I er søde sammen ☺️ Jeg er dog ikke helt enig i Jens, når han siger, at man som vegetar/veganer er MERE bevidst om, hvad man spiser og konteksten omkring maden (mine ord men sådan hørte jeg det 😜). Jeg spiser balanceret men også kød og er ret bevidst om fx avokadoens og chia’ens impact på klimaet og lokalsamfund osv. Det rykker altid lidt i mig, når jeg hører bevidsthed i samme sætning som valg af diæt 😉

I became vegetarian in 2003 (i was 8 years old) and it was hard to find food. Most supermarkets did not even have tofu or something similar. Times have changed though which makes it so much easier. I eat now most of the meals vegan but OMG cheese is really hard as a Dutch person

I used to really enjoy cheese and thought I could never give it up but the less I ate it the less I wanted it. That might not be the case for you but if you stop eating it for a short term you may not want it anymore. Also there are lots of great alternatives to try these days!

I've been vergetarian for my whole life and I remember back in the 90ies everyyyyybody tried to trick ne into trying meat when my mum wasnt around, it was sooo anoying as a kid. But I kinda knew, because they started to talk with that weird stupid voice. Glad I survived the 90ies :)
