Me as a Malaysian also don't quite fully understand the using of Dato' 😂. But as far as I know, the term Dato' or Dato' Sri itself varies with more title/rank *a little bit confusing actually. But what I can say is, the title/rank Dato' Sri was entitled to her by the Sultan of Pahang (we call King as Sultan and Pahang is refer to her states @ hometown). If I'm not mistaken, it was because of appreciating her contributions & awards achievement. Since Malaysia adopts a system of Parliamentary Democracy under the administration of the Constitutional Monarch, there are King in every state. It is quite confusing to explain with my limited vocabulary. But what I can say is most of the title Dato' Sri itself are grant by the King of each states. Ahh again sorry for the confusing use of vocab. 😂 *Btw dear fellow Malaysian, correct me if I'm wrong 😉
