many thanks for the session. I've just begun my career path with Datron in the UK as a service engineer and after years learning other systems this seems a game changer, I'm sure it will go from strength to strength.

I always think that the Datron machines and their Next controller system are quite compelling whenever I see one of their demos... However, they always tend to focus those demo's on parts that are made from flat plate material (such as panels held with their vacuum work holding Etc.) The big area of concern for me re possible limitations that never seem to be addressed in demos are to do with workpiece setup for parts that aren't flat or require multiple setups to enable machining on a 3 axis machine.... By this I don't mean their surface probing that allows for an even depth of engraving across a surface that isn't completely flat, I mean a part that needs to be part machined and then completly removed from the fixture, rotated and then re worked, without a 'flat' 'straight' or 'square' edge to use as a datum.
