I use the term brostep all the time so do my mates. There are a few only communities who do too. I don't disregard brostep as dubstep, it is dubstep too for sure, but brostep is just a way of many to describe a certain style of dubstep. It isn't necessarily derogatory. Brostep is an easy way for me to distinguish between proper dubstep being released today, like Biome, Kaiju, Thelem, Compa, Razor Rekta, Mala, J:Kenzo, Sleeper, Distance, etc... between the poppy stuff Calvertron, Datsik, etc...
