In this video we'll walk through the install of AN Fuel lines, fittings, and upgraded fuel filters in my 1978 Datsun 280z! (Product Links Below)
Join me in the garage as we install brand new Nylon-Braided AN Fuel Lines in my Datsun 280z. This project is especially important if you plan to run any serious boost, or if you're looking to replace the stock rubber fuel lines with something more modern and durable.
PTFE AN lines are also required if you plan to run E85 fuel in your car, so this tutorial is applicable to any classic car conversion.
I'll run through the various tools and parts I purchased for this job, including a Jeggs Hose cutter, a hard line cutter, AN PTFE lines, AN fittings, AN hard line adapters, orb and O-ring fittings, and a variety of other things.
The first thing you'll want to do is install all of your hard product, that's your fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, and hard line adapters. After that use something to measure the length of all the line that you need. lastly cut your line with some tape holding back the frays. After that put your fitting face down on your work bench and work it into the line as directed in this video. They key here is to get a clean fit without any frays.
After that you can simply test fit the lines to see if you made them adequately long. After that make sure to pressure test the system. The last thing you want is to be leaking fuel, burning cars is not fun.
After that, sit back and admire you're incredible work.

@@JordanPayneLV I have to say that with my 76 280Z being my first build I am learning sooo much from guys like you on youtube, from metal fabrication, body and painting, interior work, mechanical work, & even wheels and tires. It's been an experience to say the least but I do enjoy learning new things each day. Iv'e also considered starting a page throughout my build to give back what I've learned throughout the last year, I just couldn't do it because I'm so driven and focused to complete the project that I can't find the time to record and narrate anything. Maybe if I do another build after this one I'll take the time to create content videos. Thanks again Jordan, be safe man..

Cutting the hard lines was way easier than I thought it would be, and you can bend the hard lines with your handles a little bit so it’s not too bad

Great video! Just a heads up, I think the fuel hose and the kit you linked in the description was actually CPE Rubber hose instead of PTFE line. The PTFE stuff actually is more of a plastic inner tube instead of rubber and does not break down with any fuel type.
@JordanPayneLV
@JordanPayneLV 3 жыл бұрын

NICE JOB ON THE FUEL LINES. I HAPPENED TO NOTICE THE RADIATOR SHROUD. IS THAT CUSTON ( METALLIC OR PLASTIC) TO FIT THE NON STOCK ALUMINUM RADIATOR? THE CHAMPION RADIATOR I HAVE DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME ATTACH POINTS TO ALLOW FOR THE SHROUD TO ATTACH.
@JordanPayneLV
@JordanPayneLV 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Thomas, thanks for watching! It’s actually the stock radiator shroud, we cut little slots in it to accommodate the champion radiator, the champion radiator has some tabs on the side and we were able to make it work. Originally it was black but I painted it silver to make it pop a little more.

@JordanPayneLV

Thanks Man, thanks for watching! Maybe! You might be able to use a hard line adaptor like I did in the engine bay. You may need to measure the tank outlet and get a different size but I’m not sure! I plan on tackling that in the future :), so If you find out, let me know!
