Mike, in the Caribbean (USVI) we haven't had a significant rain since before Christmas. Usually May is a rain month but not much. We have a Caribbean proverb "Mother Nature brings rain, not the hose". We can't get anything to grow by watering it. It has to rain. And we collect all our water from our roof into a cistern. Congrats to Eva on graduating!

It is so well cured that when it lands in the bin it sounds like a musical instrument; that superb sound of well cured wood. I've got a thing or two to learn about planting grass seed using hay. I always used to use peat moss. Can't plant in July it burns up. I may wait until fall to do my newly expanded back yard.

Finally got rain here after 5 weeks of nothing measurable. 2 inches and still raining. Great for the row crops and our clover plots. Hopefully it will head your way. Keep up the great videos .

Daughter Eva gave the splitter a run for it money. Dad could not keep up with her. Also can see so many of her Moms mannerisms in her expressions, stance etc. I did not get to go for Beach Week after graduation either, I had to help on the farm...hay season! Mike a little comment on the surecan . I bought one a couple weeks ago the first time I filled it up and used it the gas back fed into the spout which was in the up position. So I contacted surecan and they told me to dispose of it . They would send a new one to me . This was with no questions asked and didn’t want the receipt, outstanding service with surecan . Just an FYI

Mike, something I’ve seen on some other mills. Hang a 5 gallon bucket at the discharge to catch the sawdust and then have maybe a tote or small log rite trailer to empty it into. Just a thought to keep a good bit of the sawdust off of your stone. 👍🏼 Good job Eva !

You're my number 1 channel. Been watching for years, with your first Kubota. The music in this video made me want to dance like Christopher Walken in that Fatboy Slim video. We finally got some rain here today in upstate South Carolina, so now I can burn my big ol' brush pile and old couch. Please say hello to Hunter and take care. I myself, am off to the emergency room to hopefully get a cellulitis infection taken care of, from my ear down to my shoulder. The Urgent Care doctor said to go to the ER if I hadn't improved in a few days. Without alot of pain pills, it fills like someone has me with a crab claw grip on the trap muscle causing horrible debilitating pain. I had a tube put in my ear a few weeks ago, so I think this is all related. I'm also 6 months post Cancer treatments for my right tonsil and lymph nodes. Everyday is a battle, all from the 35 radiation treatments that I had to endure. I don't wish that on my worst enemy. I also had 8 chemo treatments, but those didn't cause me any issues that I could tell.

Best gas can I ever used I got at WalMart. The top has a button to push. Instant on and instant stop. So easy to use on my zero turn mower and small tools because you can stop so quick and there is no long tube that remains draining. I wish I could post a picture.

Mike, I noticed that your workshed which hoses the woodsplitters has full span trusses. I also noticed that at the end next to the wood pile there's a post has gets in the way of transferring rounds with the excavator. You could remove that post and then gain additional free space if you wanted it.

This year has been busy for graduations wife has been to two already and our one granddaughter is graduating early this fall at 17 she is a definite surprise hoping she goes places in her life it was really great to see Eva again helping with the chores around the house but we wouldn't expect anything less from her a very down to earth girl she looks to be going places you and Melissa did a good job be careful my friends and God love ya all .

Have you thought about running an irrigation system from the pond toward the house? I had one on a property with a 2" pipe w/filtering system. Worked great!

Even with the 6 way and perfect logs you will never get ahead on Eva. We just got rain in Wisconsin last night and the Temps dropped off. Hopefully we get a couple more rainfall.

The volunteer fire department that I am with put a thousand gallon(?) tank, in the ground, and have all the gutter down spouts going into to the tank. I believe you have a very good idea.

That's what ponds are for, water when you need it. Lucky for us our pond is right in the back yard and we irrigate with an electric pump on a timer. Water is a necessary product we can't take for granted

I bought a old hay elevator at a farm sale and made a 30 foot live deck for my splitter and that way I can split about face cord at a time just turned it around to face splitter put a foot control on it works great.😀

Eva should use loading the logs as a work out for softball, do some arm curls with the pcs of wood. Great job Eva

I have seen several channels use the cut-off tops of toad bladders under their splitters to catch debris from splitting. It makes cleaning up under the splitter a lot easier.

Looks like a nice shaded, safe area to work, it's quite the outfit. I'm in desert, so we don't really have to do this type of work. Nice to see Eva staying on target with school, necessary work, and future college. Hard work is a good primer.

Just went to my 40th H.S. reunion. My how time flies. Encouraging to see Eva looking forward to everything she can be. I know you have nothing else to do 😂 but how's the land clearing project coming along?

Good morning! Sitting here on the porch listening to birds and watching OWTM. Good stuff! Good to see Eva mature before our eyes. And evoke so many images of her mom. Acknowledging Melissa wants to put her on shirt duty was priceless. Y’all done good. I was thinking you could pump out of the tote to pressure wash down at the woodyard, but a rainwater tank off the rec center/shop would be cleaner. When you gutter the pole barn, that could go into it or another tank too. How will you clean up the debris from the splitting process/sawmill etc from under the roof? When you concrete that, it’ll be easily shoveled/swept, but until then, it’s on gravel. Maybe a combination of scraping and blowing? If not removed, at some point, that will decompose enough to turn your gravel into rocky dirt. Same applies to the chainsaw chips and sawdust, but that won’t stay dry in the open. Do you figure the land plane will migrate gravel up through the sawdust? What about splintered firewood? I’m curious - I’m sure you’ve thought about this, and I’m interested in your solutions.

Indiana finally got some much-needed rain. It is supposed to stop around 8:00 pm today. Maybe you will be getting these nice rain showers from the weather front moving through.

Some of those chunks are boiler size. For finished firewood i like to be able to hold each stick out at arm's length.

Eva has the same mannerisms as Melissa. You can really see it when the video is sped up a little; especially the way she stands waiting for Pops to catch up, they look identical!

Mike, with the VP racing jugs you simply lengthen the pouring hose by 8-10" What I found to work best for my home operation filling generators, pressure washer & ZTR mower is a 14 gallon fuel cart permanently mounted onto an aluminum hand truck, with a hand crank pump mounted to the back of the hand truck. Pump has folding crank handle like on a milling machine table transport wheel, so cart can be laid on it's back for filling. Holding a 5 gallon can over at small tank on an engine and trying to see around nozzle for fill level is no longer an issue - fuel cart operates with one hand cranking an the other holding the end of a 7' fuel delivery hose, easy to monitor, gauge and manage fill levels.

I did see where some rigged 5-6 IBC totes together for collection of rainwater off their roofs. They ran the downspout into the first and then had pvc pipes that connected the rest in a daisy chain fashion. I personally think bigger tanks would be needed as I’m not sure how much water is shed off a roof during a rain storm and you’d want to keep as much as you can capture for the reasons you mentioned. Waste not want not as my grandma would say

I think loading the skid steer with the big bucket would save a lot of work. Use it if you have got it. Stay safe!
