That slap incident was RIDICULOUS. Will Smith marched onstage over a tiny joke, slapped a guy in front millions, casually sits back down, cusses out Chris Rock ... and enjoys the rest of the night. Even gets an award ... whilst all of Hollywood is hugging him as if he was a victim of some sort. He assaulted someone broadcasted live ... and he got celebrated for it. It's no wonder a lot of people thought it was fake ... we couldn't believe what were watching. This isn't normal.

Yeah. I was shown the incident by someone in my life (and her son who knows everything) who does not like Rock and she was commending will Smith. I was like what are you talking about. I had two people essentially trash talking me because Smith was just defending his wife over that soooo hurtful and disgusting joke. Until I lost it. And had to explain to them that they had just watched an Assault and sided with the assaulter. Thank fuck some celebrities talked about Smith being in the wrong otherwise the rest of the world wouldn't have figured it out.

Them folks just didn’t know how to react, plain and simple. Because nothing like that has ever happened before on national live television. Like Dave said, Chris didn’t know what to do after he got slapped. It was a shock, it was a shock to all who was there, and whoever saw it on their television screens.

Its amazing how the black community was all in an uproar how they weren't getting the recognition at the Oscars and all the other awards ceremonies for recognition of the arts and other associations. Then one goes and brings them back 10 years, he should have been escorted out and never received any award. And possibly charged with assault. He definitely hurt the black community more than he helped after all said and done.😢

I was disgusted that in full view of the public a man was allowed to assault another man and get away with it. Regardless of Chris’ opinion, charges should have been filed. The level of entitlement shown by EVERY single person in that theatre was DISGUSTING. This is why I hate celebrity culture and everything it stands for.

People don’t know what they would do in situations like that. Chris Rock handled it perfectly, as a professional. He also made a huge amount of money off a Netflix special about it a year later. Chappelle talks a big game, but he would have probably done the same thing Chris did, except he would have sued.
