At the beginning of their careers, I’d easily go with Eddie Murphy. But Dave Chappelle is that one comedian who becomes better and better as he gets older. At this point, I don’t think anyone has ever been at the level that Dave is right now.

@@mecca6941 Chris has Everybody Hates Chris, he's hosted award shows, he's been in more movies and he did Saturday Night Live before all of that. That's why I said Chris is the better entertainer, but when it comes down to strictly comedy Chappelle is tough to compare to anybody.

That makes sense. Chris is a much more versatile actor than Dave. Rock has done Comedy, Satire, Romantic Comedy, Drama, Crime, Mystery, thriller, Horror, Biopics, Animated, action, hell even theater on Broadway.

Dave's stand up has gotten different and better with time. Chris has some classic Stand up sets but his more recent stand up don't really match up. Dave is in a different class now.

Dave Chappelle is my personal all-time favorite stand-up comedian along with Richard Pryor, but objectively, Chris Rock's "Bring The Pain" and "Bigger And Blacker" are AT LEAST as great as any stand-up special Chappelle has ever done. All and all, I say Chris Rock is a maybe slightly a greater all-time stand-up comedian and Chappelle is the greater all-around comedic talent. Rock never had a show as iconic as "Chappelle's show".

Chappelle, it's not even close. 1 would be on a mount Rushmore. The other wouldn't. Chappelle, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, George Carlin are definitely on there. I'd put Eddie Griffin on there as well. Even Bill Burr better than rock.
