The older generation has shown us repeatedly that they don't mind putting younger generations in an awful spot, mainly just because their upbringing was so mediocre. Mainly because they had abusive/drunk fathers that didn't instill any real values, just their uneducated negative opinions of the world and about people different than him. It's a lot harder to be a parent now than any other time in our history (aside from the great depression and during war times)

The subtext woven throughout the monologue is what makes Dave a certified genius. The line spoken at 8:14, speaks to how Ferguson is all but forgotten, along with everything that led up to it, the injustice still going on, how the n-word seems to be more accepted and given the blind eye, yet you can't say the j-word because that is where people now pretend to be offended about, to placate the trend of PC society. Just because you think it, doesn't mean you should say it out loud. And just because you don't say it out loud, doesn't mean you don't think it. And I've seen just how racist people can be, whoever they are...

The 3 parts that stuck with me the most here are the line about MLK and the FBI, Donald Trump and how the system works, and basically that people today have lost the ability to tell the difference between the legendary satire Blazing Saddles and the racist propaganda movie Birth of a Nation. What people are attacking Dave over is exactly why I'm stuck watching old In Living Color sketches featuring the character Handyman, the disabled superhero. As a disabled person, I find it offensive that everyone else is included in satire, but I'm not. "Well, we think it's wrong to make fun of you." Okay, Patronizers, you're a little late for that. I already get that on the street every day. You haven't stopped them. All you care about is yourself and your own reputation and feeling like a good person at my expense. That's what I find offensive. I'm a huge supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community, including their right to be included in comedy and be allowed to have a sense of humour about themselves. If we're cancelling Dave, we'll have to cancel every other Russell Peters joke, because he's satirized almost every race on the planet, including doing the accents. They're telling me that's okay but making jokes about trans people isn't?
