Additional musicians include Gerry Nestler on vox and guitar and Pancho Tomaselli on bass plus Dan Tai Lopez and Oscar Santiago on percussion.

I love how that guy at the beginning screams "SLAYERRRR!!", and then he goes on to play this amazing Latin thing. He's much more than a metal drummer, that's for sure.

To anyone insulting Gerry Nestler (the other guitarist, he's from Philm with Dave), could you do better or even imagine being on stage trying to play "Raining Blood" with them AND sing while also having to deal with your nerves?! Man, that takes some skill.

I love Dave's work and find his playing in Slayer (and Metallica that one time!) mesmerizing and otherworldly. It's interesting to me how he's way more amped up for the Latin Jazz ensemble than I'm used to seeing him when playing full on, aggressive thrash (so relaxed and fluid), which he is a pioneer of on his instrument. Reign in Drums, Dave ❤ 🤟🏾

Dave Lombardo is a class act his ego has never been bigger than himself. hes always just been a very humble person that's what I love about the guy. He Is a real professional but at the same time hes very personable, Just like one of the dudes you hang out with. He knows where he came from (cuba), and he is so grateful to be where he is at, and always shows so much appreciation to his fans. He gives it everything he's got everytime he gets behind the kit. Dave Lombardo rules🤘

Mitch Mitchell was the drummer for The Jimi Hendrix Experience. In my opinion, he's one of the more under-rated drummers. I love his work on "If 6 Was 9".

I am not a Slayer fan in the sense that I only like a few of their songs and don't follow them at all, but I have nothing but respect for the fact that they were among the first to bring speed into Metal music, and as far as I know that's because Dave told them to do so.

+Lord Baktor not sure that's exactly how it happened. jeff was big into punk at the time for the speed and aggression and turned the rest of the guys onto it...i don't think any one band member has that kind of clout where one guy says do something and the rest follow...unless you're dave mustaine of course

Maybe Dave was exaggerating his part in it, but in an interview I saw him say: "Guitarist came with a nice riff and I told him to play it twice as fast and put a double bass beat to it, that's how it started."

I know everyone knocks ddrum but I thought that his kit sounded pretty damn amazing, those nice deep power toms are needed for his playing and I loved the old tama artstar drums he played in during the late 80s & early 90s They were amazing drums.

Jesus Christ, Have loved Slayer since I was 16 (40 now) and have seen them play live. I would have to say - that is Dave Lombardo's most inspired performance ever. You could tell from his opening notes he played with the band that something was going to happen. Got goose pimples and the hackles on the back of the neck started going up. and with Kerry King loving it.... Lord take me now!....

This is basically how the final version of slayer actually felt to me, half of the band was missing with just Tom and kerry being in the final incarnation of slayer, shame they didn't go out with dave on the drums.

His drums are still waaaay too vertical, but Lombardo has improved tremendously. He seems far more capable than ever. This is a real musician - improving with experience and practice, not losing his chops. Who said that aging makes a drummer worse?

Watch the other parts of this. He plays a 4 piece kit! And he has played 4 piece on several guest spots for other bands. Plus being the "godfather of the double bass" will tell you what to expect for the most part.

Metallica's Lars Ulrich will out live any drummer's success for the past several decades based on just plain metal up your @$$ music and the genre! Sheesh, Yes Lombardo is a better drummer, Slayer imo is a better metal band, But in the END Metallica broke the Mold to the mainstream with some of the heaviest melodic metal ever , Slayer Reined, And Pantera along with Dimbag Perfected the genre, I saw them all many times and I was never disappointed. It's about the energy and the show, Yes so and so is better than so and so but do they Groove? Are they Tight? Success is really what it is about over and above talent, Too bad but that is the truth.
