I love that how Dave teaches so much of his stuff, there's so many of these videos which I absolutely love about him. And that's the point where I can't appreciate Hetfield, from what I see there's not even 1 video where he'd pick up his guitar to teach random stuffs or his downpicking; there a 30 sec video where he says t'was mutual competition or something like that, I find Kirk teaching Master Of Puppets but not James.

I actually though 'Risk' wasn't that bad an album. Sure it wasn't as heavy as their earlier (and later) stuff but it was still a good/decent album. And hey, at least it had guitar solos even if they were bad. Unlike Metallica's 'St. Anger'...!!! Which is raised quite high up in my list if Top. 5 Metallica albums.

nothing irks me more than the words "sold out". what are they supposed to do? make the exact same type of music for 30 years?? thats insane. musicians mature, progress, and change over time. i love all of metallica and megadeth's early thrash stuff but Load and Cryptic Writings were some of their most honest, heartfelt albums in my opinion. The difference between, lets say Peace Sells and Youthanasia or Ride the Lightning and Reload is a testament to the versatility and talent of both bands. this is the exact reason i dont like slayer...

A spider riff is when you play powerchords using your index and ring finger and your bird and pinky. For instance if you play e-2/a-4 your index is on e-2 and your ring is on a-4. When you move to e-3/a-5 you use your bird and pinky instead of sliding your hand down.

I had saturday night palsy as well. It was horrible and I became very depressed. It happened to my picking hand though. I would wear a brace and a rubber band to help keep the pick in my hand. It felt like the 1st week of guitar all over. So I would play in drop tuning to noodle around for ideas. Then for practice I would learn new scales on distortion to exercise my fret hand. I could not imagine having this happen to my fret hand. It feels like when you sleep on your arm except you cant shake it to regain feeling. Not to mention the initial panic when you realize it isn't going away.I walked around for months with a tennis ball everywhere I went to exercise my arm and hand.

I've tried and tested in different angle while strumming or picking but if I put a little more strength then in the middle, my pick gets stuck in the string. I mean a little bit more of the pick gets inside the string and gets stuck.. if I had to say my biggest blockage in my guitar playing then it'd be the simple pick problems.. Thanks so much again.
