There’s only so much council housing in the uk. What r the gov. supposed to do kick people out elsewhere for the grenfell victims. And don’t tell me to build more of give them money bc that means more taxes and I bet u won’t be saying this shit when u get paid less. Too many of u man don’t know what ur taking about. We have the NHS. If you work, you pay National Insurance direct from your salary which pays towards the NHS, however the government have been cutting the NHS budget bit by bit. Healthcare professional salaries are awful for the hours they work. Lots of healthcare is being sold to private companies. Waits in A&E are long.

Not privatise it for profit. Give private companies contracts to run certain aspects of it to reduce governmental inefficiencies that are part and parcel of any publicly funded project. Nobody has ever suggested making it a paid service to end users.

Grenfell victims have been offered housing, but in places far from where they were before. They’ve been offered the minimum they could because that’s how our government is. People are seen as commodities instead of human beings.

Yes we all have free health care any hospital treatment, surgeries, medical care is free. And we have a low cost for prescription medications. Although the last few years large parts of the National Health Service have slowly been sold off to private companies and many common procedures are no longer available on the nhs. It’s a wonderful thing but it is being neglected by the government. Underfunded, understaffed. The majority of nhs workers and nurses are also paid very low wages 👍❤️🇬🇧

Yep, exactly. And voters keep choosing less important things over this. They'll only really notice when, for example, something minor (but still essential) like getting a dental consultation for their child becomes an expense. They'll let it get worse and worse instead of just fixing it right NOW. People don't think about the long-term impact anymore.

Couple of common examples would be a tonsillectomy for people who suffer with chronic tonsilitus. Some cataract surgeries, if you get a wart on your elbow or hand, steroid injections for back pain. there are plenty that have been stopped they refer you somewhere else where a private clinic will come onsite to an nhs hospital and will charge the NHS to perform the procedure for you (we still get it free at the moment as a patient though) and most patients probably don’t even realise this is happening

Some residents of grenfell have been offered settlements (money and other accommodation etc) but there are a huge amount of people still living in hotels because they can’t live anywhere else. On top of that some people were pressured to accept housing that’s no where near London or grenfell, meaning that they would have to just give up all connections (like employment for example) in order to have a home. Essentially, grenfell citizens have lost their homes, loved ones, neighbours and friends and have then been fucked over by the government who’s lack of response has left people in limbo

Grenfell tower was literally the worst thing I've ever seen! Cheap cladding so our government could save money, there's still buildings with the same cladding all over london and the government wanted the residents to pay to have it taken off it! Grenfell residents were telling the council the cladding wasn't safe and it was only a matter of time before something happened and they didn't listen It took theresa may 3 days to come and see the residents the public supported them clothed them, fed them gave them somewhere to sleep no government help whatsoever the towers still there and when the government finally helped they stuck them in hotels and some of them still there even though they was promised accommodation in 3 months and its 3 years later! Our government is fucked! Rest in peace to the 72 people who lost there lives that day! Well never forget till we have justice x

fucked innit. I imagine there was more than 72 deaths as well just the government trying to hide shit . Its disgusting how nothing has been done after 4 years . How can the cladding company live withemsleves knowing that their essential making a death trap. And then the tory government pretended as nothing happened and carried on with life as it doesnt affect them when their sitting on their high chairs looking down on everyone

Grenfell is not being rebuilt. There is a banner hanged on the side of the building in memorial of those who died and the carcass can be seen from far.

We have universal healthcare called the NHS which is funded mainly through taxation and is free for every U.K. resident. The previous prime minister David Cameron resigned because he lost the referendum and didn’t want to be the PM that brought the U.K. out of the EU. Grenfell residents still need accommodation and hundreds of tower blocks still have that same flammable cladding on them.

N.H.S, national health service, most working people contribute directly from their pay stated on their paycheck as NI contributions if you earn say £1000 per month you can expect to pay £30 - £80 approximately, for that fee we get free at the point of need all necessary operations including some for mental health ie breast implants ect.. its a great system, long live our NHS!

3 years on and 27 families still haven’t been rehoused since grenfell. Still living in temporary accommodation. The government knew that it was a fire hazard and it burnt down. They are to blame and have done nothing to help.

@@a-aura yes but in the US the cost is ridiculous compared to what we pay in taxes. The cost of an appendectomy costs on average $33,000 in the US. Appendicitis is a condition that affects mostly younger people and there is no actual cause of it and they're wanting these people to find $33,000 from somewhere. in the UK average income is £22-25k, someone earning 25K will pay about 5k in tax and national insurance of which about 1k will go to the NHS per year. so you are right its not free but its a fuck of a lot cheaper.

Universal healthcare is what we have in Britain. David Cameron resigned as he granted the election on whether the UK should remain in or leave the EU. David Cameron campaigned for Remain, and Leave won. Therefore, he resigned, with the reasoning that he was no longer the best person to take the country forward due to him being a Remainer when the majority voted to Leave.
