Awesome and indeed motivating interview with your guest. I added a PC4 to my live rig about 10 months ago. For 8 of those months i wanted to sell it, but I would see John Carin and other innovative players using them, so, i bit the bullet and spent a month in VAST programming school. Glad i did, as now i couldnt imagine playing without one. Mr Holloway, if you havent gotten a PC4 or K 2700 , its worth it. Also Mr Holloway i just found this channel today and I will be going through all of the episodes. Fantastic stuff. Cheers

Out of frustration with Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Casio digital pianos, I just purchased a PC4. I want full control of my digital pianos just like I have full control of my subtractive synths waveforms. It's 2023 and I am still waiting for a hardware Dpiano that functions as well as software pianos. A dedicated acoustic piano with massive control over the sound and player interaction with the mechanics of the keybed to the programmable interaction from the keybed to the sound engine. I am a composer and performer on acoustic pianos, I have to play whatever is on the stage, from the finest Steinway 9 foot grand to a console piano in a chapel that hasn't been tuned or voiced in 20 years. But at home in my apartment, I need a digital to practice with headphones, for my neighbors, and so I don't get kicked out. I also orchestrate synths where I have sound designed for over 30 years in subtractive, and for the last 5 years in FM. Now I am ready for VAST, I am not afraid of learning a new OS, I am one of the few people in the world who programs arranger keyboards styles from blank programs. I hate presets, and as a composer, I program arranger styles to fit each song I write. Been working with the PC4 for a week now attempting to program a usable solo acoustic piano patch, still not there. I don't know why in 2023 I still get piano samples with decay rates so fast that it can't be played like a piano. I can't arpeggiate a chord slowly with sustain so the notes blend, like on a real acoustic grand piano. I played my first digital piano back in the late 1980s, still waiting, but I am now 65 years old, playing keys for 54 years, I will probably die without ever playing a Dpiano that can be played like an acoustic.

I just bought a PC4 and as much as I love the instrument, the sound and the brand (not my first Kurz) I am lost in the sampling edition, keymaps and stuff. Anyone out there knows of any serious tutorials or books I can read to properly learn how to deal with sound edition and VAST?
