Protests don't actually work unless it's obvious intentional wrecking. I have protested a guy before multiple times for doing this and he was never banned (or at least there wasn't any space in his history that showed he got a ban)

IRacing should have a special race start procedure where such things get detected from the game and give those guys a drive through penalty when they have more speed than the rest of the field and overtake cars before green.

I dont understand the protests on iracing. Once, i have been banned for one month for a insult i made to a driver regarding his nationality in a private chat (i will never ever do it again, i was very mad and it was REALLY not ok of my side), BUT: Some weeks ago, a driver insulted me very bad regarding to my mother a lot of times in the official chat and wrecked me at the end. I made a protest and: Nothing happenend...i met him two days later in a race session...

Take advantage of the public forum to make this stuff known. iRacing has some quirks. I just finished an SF race at Silverstone, P3 in my split and a clean race minus one off track. Race is over, good race by everyone. Someone doesn’t pay attention and completely takes me out as I’m parked a ways down the track off to the side. I get 4x’d after the race is done, and now I’m back a few races trying to get my rating up to the next level again… instead of a bump to my SR that would put me over, my SR takes a big hit. It would be awesome if there was a suggestion box that was taken seriously… haha. It seems a few simple algorithms would pick up on stuff like this or what you have here. Incentivizing fairness and clean driving should be a priority, I would like to think. This one should be an easy catch for the system. A speed that is disproportionate by a given amount to that of the rest of the field prior to a green flag. That’s not a hard one to write.

Really benefitted off a fella like this in rookie street stocks. Being new to the class I just started at the back, fella just pinned it as the pace car went in and wrecked the field ahead. Oddly I called it out on the mic and he had some defenders!? Go figure.

Totally agree. Had a race today where Im doing ok in the pack avoiding trouble when a Cayman came round my outside and bundled me off the track destroying my race. He was way quicker than me but I gave him space to pass. No need for it but there was some karma today too. On the last lap the leader comes up on me and i let them through straight away but they were being chased by the Cayman….. I just didn’t see him until it was too late sadly and accidentally held him up. Maybe its cos Im an old man but we are all doing this for fun and I don’t see why someone who is A or B licence and is very quick needs to push people off the track for absolutely nothing other than devilment.

That's been my Daytona experience over two weeks. Just high enough iRating to keep getting into top split and kept getting ran over by high rating drivers taking it three wide on race starts, playing chicken in brake zones, and so on. I was honestly hoping this was a karma video of someone taking that stupid "new" line in T1 that GTP drivers are doing now and getting wiped out from it, but this works to satisfy the karma fire all the same.

I'm fairly new to iRacing and sim racing in general. I really appreciate your channel and have enjoyed and learned a ton from your content. Thank you. I get so discouraged when I put in a decent quali and start in decent position with more than half the field without a valid quali lap only to get taken out by faster but invalid starters. It has happened more times than I can count and the last protest I put in they claim there was no malicious intent but it still ruined my damn race. Its enough to give it a break and go elsewhere. I know I'm whining but this just makes me realize its not just me and not just in D class or Rookies. Thanks again Dave!

in ACC you have to be at a specific position and with a specific speed, otherwise you instantly get a DT after green flag

calling them out online as well as reporting it is the only way we can really effect any change. ill never get the mentality deep inside they have to know what they are doing is wrong. like the guys who intentionally tank irating so they can "win" a lower split, when the way it works is everyone in every split above you automatically finishes higher than you. finishing 10th in the top split is an accomplishment noone give a shit who wins the bottom split except the guys who legit fight to get it, I respect them.

It is, but it's your responsibility to get back above the line safely. It's always a little tricky and would never do it unless it was the last lap where I know I can just go straight on or brake.

Really hate seeing aggressive and disrespectful drivers like this in a game we pay SO MUCH to play...Why can't iracing be a bit more aggressive to these drivers and give them a proper season ban instead of one week off? I think these type of incidents would happen alot less if people knew they could get banned for 13 weeks vs one Just my two cents though...

As an official in irl racing for dirt ovals, we call this a jack rabbit start a lot of times, and you get sent to the tail if you pull this crap. Try it again and you're disqualified and sent to the pits

Unfortunately Max Verstappen has done something similar in iRacing that's available on KZfaq and he's yet to receive a ban so, they feel if he gets away with it and does it, why not? It's wrong and against the sport code so they deserve a small break as a reminder. The iRacing report system does need a re-work and I hope iRacing make it way better to stamp down on racers that are nothing but a pain in the back side.

If the Verstappen incident is the one I'm thinking of then it's even better than this one - the one I saw he, as the GT3 pole sitter, jumped the start well before the green flag, and proceeded to dive to the apron to overtake the ENTIRE GTE FIELD. Honestly one of the funniest things I've ever seen, although I agree it should result in a ban or penalty of some kind.
