I love these two and am so proud of their success. David and Tam are from my hometown of Fort Worth, TX. It is true they have been friends forever. David was my sister's hairstylist and one time. When he came to our house to do my sister's hair Tam would come with him. Success has not changed them, they are still genuinely great people.

“Dear, do you realize your yelling?”(notice the the lowered voice inflection) Combating anger or frustration with a calm tone in his voice that reestablished respect, not only for himself but for each other. He continues to say, as I paraphrase, “ I’m not listening if your yelling, we need to take this way down for me to hear you.” There is a lot of anger in the black community most never learned how to communicate properly or actively listen. It’s elders like this and a walk of faith that will get you through. I respect this brother and sister tremendously. I will get their book. Thank you for sharing your story.

Take the time and really listen to what they were talking about. She felt unappreciated. Dang wasn’t that hard to understand. Also can we let Angela talk sometime??
