I know how he did it. He saw the amount people that would see the podcast, ahead of time, like in a vision. Then he saw that the number kept changing, always increasing. He fed off of that energy in the moment this was recorded, and just kept rolling with it. Millions upon millions of views. To be honest. David never denied he was using a learned skill. He also didn’t claim luck specifically connected to the dice trick of calling Rogans throw. He also told a story that put a specific number into Rogans awareness, changed the subject briefly and Rogan picked the number he’d been fed, but had forgotten why. That David is being tricky. Btw, if you like magic, you might like the British whodunnit comedy series, “Jonathan Creek”.

@@OtterSC2 I'm almost 100% sure he was the kid. Or he made the story up as a bit of backstory for the trick he performed for Joe. Penn and Teller are a good example of setting up a great narrative and then doing a trick around it.

Ok so it seems obvious to me that the kid does exist and it wasn’t a fairytale, David must of met this guy heard his story and watch him throw dice to which he was amazed as he said “I’ve never seen anybody throw dice like him” and then probably asked him how he did it then crazy ass Blaine went full psychotic magical mode where he emits super extreme work ethic to master what he’s trying to achieve..eventually he thought he was good enough to try out his luck and BOOM won everybody 10 grand If that wasn’t recorded and he just did it on his own ..that is like some real movie like magical shit ..the dude is such a legend

David Blaine is incredibly unique. Once in a life time entertainer, magician, stuntman, illusionist, and everything else I can’t think of right now. Nothing he does is by accident, it’s all planned, even the stories he tells set up something he is about to do. This is one of my favorite stories I've ever heard from anyone. The idea of a kid taking his life into his own hands, and becoming the absolute BEST at something as wild as dice throwing, in order to support himself and his Ma, is amazing. It's just cool, it inspires me to practice hard at anything I want to be good at. I hate being bad at things I like, e.g. sports, video games, puzzles etc. I hate the feeling of doing poorly, feeling inadequate, but the truth is, if I really wanted to I could be good at anything, and so could ANYONE here in this comment section, all it takes is time. Put the time in and you'll be amazing. There is no barrier, there is nothing holding us back but our own mind and willpower, it's so refreshing to feel like you can take it into your own hands. I know it seems like common sense but when your a guy who used to suffer from depression, the world can seem so unreachable, even if it's an arms reach away.......Marcus Aurelius once said something to the effect of, "We must be active in our own rescue...", that's what the kid in the story did, he rescued himself with time and repetition. Also, it's cool the mystique about the kid actually being David himself, real cool Magician-type mystery.

Blaine's best magic trick is making a 30 second story expand to over 5 minutes
@videochemist3 жыл бұрын
No, that was a 5 minute story, which would have been ruined if told in 30 seconds by someone who can't tell a story.
@brandondaniels94713 жыл бұрын
The whole story about the kid is what made the dice trick so cool. If out of no where, he was like, _"Hey do you wanna see a cool dice trick?"_ ... it would be like _WTF?_ The story telling, the way he sprinkles in his own human vulnerabilities, and the way he cleverly takes his time to set up his tricks is a lot of the magic in his craft. It's not just about a 30 second trick. Blaine really nails down the psychology that makes these tricks more astonishing to the audience... rather than just rushing it through.

@@antoniobrown824 Exactly this, he's a master at it. I found it interesting to watch/listen to him practice his craft. The entire dice story was him setting up his trick. They sort of touch on the psychology earlier in the podcast. To add to that, if anyone here has played craps and specifically the fire bet, no pit boss or dealer would ever have to tell the table the fire bet had just hit. I've been at a table where it hit, the last point was 12, we all knew it and when it hit, you'd have thought we would have shook the building down. The entire casino literally stopped to look at us going bonkers.
