When you find out that David Blaine just performed a trick that was done by a magician over a hundred years ago who died with his secrets. He done his research and training and managed to perform it on this show. Amazing.

This was featured in one of his old specials. He traveled to a foreign country to meet a man who could spout fountains of water from his mouth (Blained found him on KZfaq, I believe). The secret was in how you contract the muscles of your stomach. He trained Blaine and he certainly improved from the last time he tried this (though Blaine couldn't match the force of the spouts yet)

WARF3RE If you watch his special it will explain it. Using his stomach muscle you can manipulate the water in it. He drink that much water in order to fill up his stomach and once the gasoline comes in it stays at the top. A magician did the same trick a while back but he died because of it.

People on here saying it's not real don't know what they're talking about. Blaine is really doing what he says he's doing. It's called water spouting and was popularised by Hadji Ali in the early twentieth century. Might not be to everyone's taste but I think it's an amazing feat to watch, and you have to admire the skill required to do this.

robskim101 Well.... It actually ISN'T magic. If you think about it... you and I can possibly learn to do it. If Blaine was taught by that dude from Africa (or wherever he is from) and Hadji Ali did it, that must mean people are physically capable of doing so. That's an old trick. He swallows all the water then the kerosine. The kerosine sits on top of the water in his stomach. Then he regurgitates it at will. Amazing developed muscle control there.

yeah i think it was the mixture of solutions in his stomach, he drank too much to fill up his stomach to the extent that he was about to vomit, and we all know that Kerosene is lighter and less dense than water. When the two are mixed together they will separate and the kerosene will be on top. The moment he drank the kerosene, it floated in his stomach which is filled up already with lots of water so when he controls his stomach muscles to vomit or spit it out, Kerosene would come out first and water next.. He has got to have mad muscle control for that though, for which he has , so there you go :)

P Hampton i know how. it's in his documentary. so he drinks the water first. then he drinks the kerosene, just like oil, it doesn't mix with water so it just sits on top off the water in 2 layers. he used the kerosene to ignite then once a cup full of it is gone in his stomach, he uses the water as an extinguisher

Just a theory, but I think he spits the kerosene out first because kerosene has a different density to water and sits on top of the water in his stomach

he learned how to expel liquid from his stomach using a certain muscle. he basically just chugs a lot of water and then drinks kerosene (which is lighter than water and sits on top of it). he uses the muscle to expel the kerosene out of his mouth and ignite the flame further. when he has expelled all the kerosene, there is only water left which he uses to extinguish the flame.
