I think it's about time for hip-hop to use more live instruments, especially guitar. 90s hip-hop had a lot of guitar in it, almost always samples, but still i liked the sound and vibe of a guitar sprinkled in the beat. Now I think about it, alot of early 2000s rap used guitar samples too. Also no matter the genre, I urge everyone to learn as much music theory as you can. It sucks at first, and seems like learning a completely different language (cuz it kinda is a different language) but I'm so glad I forced myself to learn theory. It's something so universal and I can essentially play any instrument in the world because I learned music theory.
