Dirige l'Orchestra il Maestro Pierre Boulez. ... STANDING OVATION! #freddiemercury #video #davidbowie #music #live #underpressure
Under Pressure è nata così».

@@shethingsd They never performed this together live, but they knew and respected each other well enough to have written and recorded this song. They were too intense about their own work to be besties, but there was a lot of mutual appreciation between them. Also, Freddie's boyfriend/husband Jim was a hairstylist, and was the reason that David Bowie's hair was so magnificent at Live Aid. (He did Freddie's perfect hair that day too, and their good friend Elton John's. Jim had serious skills.)

Still one of the best memories of my life! It was more than worthy the consequences when they learned about it. I cried oceans when Freddie left us, I still think of him when I play his songs. I can't believe how amazing and talented everyone on that stage is. Everything is perfection. From Mercury and Bowie's vocals, their performances, to the amazing band behind them It's making me so sad that I will never be able to see either Queen or David Bowie live in concert. RIP to both of them, the impact they had on this world will go on forever.

I had the good fortune of meeting David twice but sadly no meet with Freddie, and for those that say never meet your idol as it could turn bad from your point of view, don’t believe it Bowie was so much more than I could of dreamt of in fact the first time was that David and co star were making a swift exit from the world premiere of Just a Gigolo in London and I was outside smoking and I didn’t know they had left until a limo pulled up next to me and window opened and Bowie leaned out and said can I get a light mate! OMG I was in shock so much so that I told him to keep the lighter! 😂 He said thanks and asked was I leaving early and I said no just have a smoke break to which he said do yourself a favour and leave now only it really is crap!!🤣 He was actually quoted on being interviewed about the movie as saying “Let’s just say it was all of my Elvis movies rolled in to one” He was probably right!

They did record the song together but they never got the chance to perform it in concert together. This video was made up from two different shows. All of the DB clips were taken from a concert he did with Annie Lennox. All of the FM clips were taken from a Band Aid concert ? I think.

@@9Tailsfan The Bowie clips were from the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute show, where he performed this song with Queen and Annie Lennox. Unfortunately, Freddie was no longer even alive when half this video was filmed. The Freddie clips were from Queen's "Magic" tour, which ended in a massive show at Wembley Stadium, the same venue as Live Aid. (And the Freddie Mercury Tribute show, 7 yrs after Live Aid. They needed a big place for that crowd!) Freddie finished the show wearing a massive velvet cape trimmed in fur, and a copy of the Queen's crown. He retired from touring after this, knowing that his health was beginning to decline, though he told very few people.
