David Bowie was a treasure. I love this song! He was vocal about the treatment & rights of African-American people. He worked with many & challenged others about equality. His wife, model Iman (the Queen in MJ's Remember The Time video), said he IS her husband & she'll never remarry. Her tribute to him is so beautiful. She talked about how she married David Jones, not the persona David Bowie. Their love was real. He was a homebody & loved simple things like walking their daughter to school, so sweet. 2016 broke me with David, Prince and George Michael leaving here. R.I.P. to all three. They were the Best!💘💘💘

Nahhhh Young Americans is a great song, but for an artist with literally so many more creative and interesting songs I have to disagree about it being one of his best. Probably would be one of the best if it was any other artist but Bowie just has too much clout in his other work in my opinion. Ashes to Ashes, Look back in anger, Station to Station, Fashion, Fame, Life on Mars, Moonage Day Dream, Time, Oh You Pretty Things, As the world falls Down, 1984/Dodo, Andy Warhol, ....it goes on and on. To those who have only heard the popular songs by him, just scratch the surface a little - you will be stunned by what you find.

@@TheOldskoolVideoGamer I was about ready to agree with you until I saw your list. Come on. I'll admit, I don't know some of the songs on your list, but Young Americans is 10 times better than Fashion, Oh You Pretty Things, Look Back in Anger.... His best songs (imo) are Ashes to Ashes, Fame, Golden Years, The Man Who Sold the World, Modern Love, Rebel Rebel, Suffragette City, Sound and Vision, Ziggy Played Guitar and, of course, Space Oddity. Yeah, mostly the hits, but they are hits for a reason.

Produced by the great Nile Rogers, inspiration of call and response from Bowie’s early idol Little Richard, with Stevie Ray Vaughan on guitar on the recording. This was live footage from his tour in 1983. It’s about the conflict between God and Man in a secular world. Bowie personally had one of the most incredible loves with the incredible Iman who pays tribute to him almost daily.

Since its release, "Modern Love" has received critical acclaim from music critics, who praised Bowie's songwriting, its production, and its power as an opening track. It is generally considered one of the best songs on the Let's Dance album, along with "China Girl" and the title track, and has since been called one of Bowie's greatest songs. 'The Last Town Chorus' did a beautiful version of this in 2006.

Saw him on the "Serious Moonlight" tour in 1983 at BC Place in Vancouver. The stadium had just opened and Bowie's was the first concert there. It sold out 54,000 fans there that night. As always he had a great band. He had such charisma in his suits (one peach coloured the other powder blue). His vocals were amazing! The best concert I ever saw. He returned to Vancouver a month later and played two shows at the pacific coliseum where this video was filmed. One of the concerts there was filmed and was on VHS years ago and may be on DVD now.
