In this video we're listening to David Bowie for our little 'Days Of The Week' series we're doing. It's great to get back to David's music. This is from the late 90's, and the accompanying video looks interesting as well. Time to see what this is all about. Enjoy!

Thank you for doing this, it's always appreciated. I love your 'Days of Week' thing Chris, hopefully your will make a visit to it again. 'Bowie' was experimental up until the end of his life, never playing it safe.

David co-wrote this with his guitarist at the time Reeves Gabriel .Reeves is now in The Cure whose long awaited Songs Of The Lost World is due out this summer. It's about a man who feels he's accomplished all his life's goals only to be inspired by fresh love to continue to strive to do more. Pretty good song.

Bowie borrowed the title " Thursday's Child " from one of his favourite books , the self penned autobiography of Eartha Kitt.

Mmm ! OK , Not Bowies greatest moments ! But as Earl Slick said after his death , We did not get why Bowie did not want to come to LA to do a session with them ! Now we understand that he was quietly suffering with the C word .This would explain the tone of this tune .IMO one of Bowies Albums that does not get a mention much is the "The Man Who Sold The World " tracks such as "Width of a Circle " and "Running Gun Blues " are just Ace !

Dead Man Walking from his Earthling album from 1997 are phenomenal. Bowie's electronica period continuing the style from the Outside album from 1995. Industrial with drum and bass including techno Love everything by David Bowie except Never Let Me Down (1987) and The Buddha From Suburbia (1993)

I am a massive fan of 70's Bowie through all his ch-ch-ch-changes up to and including his Berlin period but beyond that I know very little. I really wanted to like this and it pains me to say that this is probably one for the fans of his later period. Cheers.

I have a request for the Hanier Family to listen and react to songs from David Bowie's best album Diamond Dogs, its his most artistic, freaky and weird album and most amazing, and the best songs are, We are the Dead, Big Brother, Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family, 1984, and Rebel Rebel.

If you're interested in a nice song about Friday, you should try *Wendy Matthews - Friday's Child ohnoitisnathan93* (including phnoitsnathan93 in title) Wendy Matthews is a Canadian-Australian singer. She moved to Australia from Canada in the early 80's, and shacked up with Models' singer/guitarist Sean Kelly (the cranky one that sings Atlantic Romantic and I Hear Motion). She joined Models in 1985 as a backing vocalist and also joined Sydney funk-band Rockmelons. In 1989, she joined Sean Kelly's new band called Absent Friends which featured Gary Beers of INXS. She's been having success as a solo artist since 1990. ''Friday's Child'' is not much better than ''Thursday's Child''. Might be slightly more interesting, but anyway... It's a Friday song that you can use if you like.. *Wendy Matthews - Friday's Child ohnoitisnathan93* Absent Friends - I Don't Want To Be With Nobody But You Austech (compare it to Dorothy Moore's 1976 original) I much prefer you guys do *Cold Chisel - Saturday Night (Audio + Video merge 2023)* The ''Saturday Night'' video was shot 40 years ago at Sydney's Kings Cross and Darlinghurst, and has scenes of the nascent Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. I did a lot of work to make the video look and sound good, so please use it for what it's worth.

I’m aware of the difficulty getting decent tracks with the word Thursday in it , but this is barrel scraping of the highest order . IMHO Bowie was done as a frontier breaking , hit maker extraordinaire by the late 70’s and in fact Ashes to Ashes was the last single that I actually liked . This is nothing short of awful , this is the same guy who did Moonage daydream , The Gene Genie and Heroes - he will always be a hero to me for his earlier , stunning work - hadn’t heard it before and sadly it confirms the impression I had of his later work , it’s total bollocks and frankly I wish I hadn’t heard it for that precise reason ! Of course I need to say that it’s purely my opinion when I slate a track or artist this vehemently, it’s only cos I’m SO disappointed . Nuff said ☹️ 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Very, very poor for Bowie. I think by this stage, he had pretty much lost any interest in continually redefining music. He was probably way too busy counting his money.
