Every Bowie song I listen to, I feel like I'm gonna like either way. Surprised I've never heard this track, a track that holds a deeper meaning. I almost wanted to do another take for this, but I decided against it because what the heck! Now you know.
Thanks for watching!

Nick, you should check out the songs "Right," "Win," & "Fascination," the latter of the three was co-written by the backup singer you mentioned, Luther Vandross. I don't think you recognized that name, but several years after this album was released, Vandross became a major R & B star in his own right. This whole album was terrific IMHO, I remember playing it on repeat for months when it was released (until Bowie released his next one, anyway 😁). One of the thing that "hooked" me into Bowie during my teen years was that he didn't write typical love songs. Not only did he paint images in my head, but his songs have always been about loneliness, alienation, disillusionment, etc. Not that he couldn't or didn't write the occasional love song, but that was not his main theme. There was ALWAYS something deeper & more textured going on. Anyway, great job Nick, I enjoy that you do the research with the songs & I do hope you check into more Bowie soon. There are so many more surprises for you there, I promise! ✌👍

Bowie is such a master of transformation. Not one of his albums is the same and none have aged badly.

One of Bowie's greatest "left hand turns" in his career. I doubt few people outside of his immediate circle , would have seen one coming! It's fair to say , the bulk of heavy groove in this track comes from.the utterly superb backing singers. They really get to grips , with Bowie's eccentric take on soul music. And truly provide an electrifying backing to Bowie's "coke sweat fuelled" delivery! Love this track / album of all. So gorgeously eclectic & brilliant. Great reaction as always 🖤 Stay awesome ! Hugs HappiGoth x

I'm reminded of the Indian channel Enoma and their reaction to this track last year - that was something to behold!

It's dark Nick. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. And all the while David Sanborn ripping a flapping hole in the tissue holding our atmosphere. We're bleeped. This was right about the time that Bowie went on MTV and asked them why all their videos were populated by pasty gringos. If you don't do anything else, you gotta do 'Right"! I've heard it 400 times and it still blows my scalp into the midwest, and my eyelids were last spotted in the Mississippi delta heading toward the gulf. I'll never find them and I don't care. The only thing that will bring me back is more Bowie!

Lewis if I may; this came out in 1974 and MTV didn't exist until 1981. I don't doubt the pasty gringos quote, though.
