Nah bro he wants to play, he wanted a specific contract to stay at united, they wouldn’t give it to him, cuz they thought they could have a mad transfer window, that didn’t work 🤡. Then he got offers from various clubs, but didn’t want to go to any of them, he didn’t want to be a sellout in Saudi, he didn’t want to be a second choice at Bayern or Atletico and didn’t want a short term contract at Newcastle. He still wants to play, he just wants the right offer and the right team. Leverkusen would be great, champions league football next season, and he’s a little better than Hradecky, so I think he’d start. But I totally agree, not a fall from grace, just a personal choice.

Come up against Real Madrid, Man City, teams that can score next season and well, no matter how good u are at coming back, it ain’t happening against those kinda teams. We saw that no matter how much leaks there was in Man Utd’s defence De Gea still managed to win 2 golden gloves against elite goalkeepers like ederson and Allison. Whatever about his distribution, he is one of the most elite shot stoppers we’ve seen. Tah should be captain anyways

He definitely was one of the problems but not one we needed to get rid of right away because he still showed his quality with his crazy shot stopping. He was literally the reason we weren’t mid table in previous seasons and has kept Utd relevant. It really hurt me that the club disrespected such a legend like Dave by not giving him a send off as well. One of the greatest keepers of this generation. I’d even say top 15 of all time. I’m sure he’d find a club and give it everything because he was one of few who actually cared about the club 💔

I'm United fan. Been supporting him since that day, when he got out of the car, ran across that blanket sheet United staffs use to cover him up, for his medical. De Gea made his choice that he won't play backup keeper and leave. I accepted that, some just couldn't move on.

Ddg has the best reflex for a keeper i ever seen in the entire history of football…. When other keeper did similar reflex save, it could be their saves of their career, as for ddg, it is his casual and usual saves every match. My personal take is that he didnt want to leave united but if he did then a new club would have to meet some specific requirements, the main one being closer to his family. We definitely shouldn't have let him go, his distribution aside he was still one of the best in the league and our defence was plenty capable of making up for his shortcomings and always knew they could rely on his shot stopping ability. Onana has shown just how good ddg was and how important he was to our entire defence. Part of me wanted him to go to Newcastle on a short term deal and have an incredible time just to silence the short memoried critics

This guy was perhaps the best gk in the world for a few years. I have no doubt that clubs put in significant offers for him. I think it’s just a personal choice, the man has been playing top flight football since fergie was at United. A club with maybe the most pressure in all of Europe besides maybe Real or Barca. He’s earned the right to make whatever decision he wants.
